I would say that were an arrogant statement, but I thought about it and I wouldn't want to live ANYWHERE else. I want to visit Venice and New Zealand, but I'd never live in any of those places. No, America is just fine.

I have heard a lot worse from Americans about people from middle eastern countries than France but yes France gets a lot of flak too.Someone has already mentioned freedom fries in this thread I believe. Their fighting abilities also seem to be a topic of interest for Americans.

Yeah, my friend is Filipino and she's told us some of the things people have said to her. Pretty rude. Other than being thought Chinese by everyone, someone asked her had she been to the homeland (b/c she was born in America). I thought that was pretty rude. I don't ever say "dirty mexicans" or anything like that. I don't go off of countries sense there are so many. I use the broad terms Asian and Hispanic.

One day, there will be a new, independent self-governing satellite state in space. I wonder if anyone will make fun of them?

Exactly. So let's look past any differences there might be between us and find instead that we have pretty much in common. Being prejudiced is something anyone can be. Although it doesn't really require lots of brains for someone to realize that there are different people in all countries, and that the stereotypes rarely exist other than in our imaginations. Of course, there might be a little bit of truth in every rumour, but it might as well be based on such few examples that it cannot be taken seriously.

actually the 42% of my country is occupied by turkey since 1974 because of American political manoeuvres and guidance.. in the name of economic and military benefits.dozens of thousand died in an unfair war,families slaughtered,women were raped in front of their husband's eyes and many many other tragedies.. until today 2000 people werent found alive or dead,and their families are still wondering.. if you ask me if i would prefer the soviet union to rule until now i would say yes because probably this things wouldnt happen.However its not a matter about which country is Superior to others but how it handles this superiority.. well thanks for the correction. I didn't know that, but that's world trade, not only america sells weapons to other countries... I agree with you though, it isn't exactly "helping" but what if they didn't have weapons how could they defend from attacking countries? If not, they could possibly just get slaughtered. So in a way there's nothing wrong with them having weapons for defense like every other country in the world. Of course, if we sold them weapons for the sole purpose of attacking another country then yeah thats bad, but i doubt we did.zero9167

Actually, Africa is one big quagmire of proxy wars and war corporatism.....No one really knows what's going on down there...

Once again, I'm ok with America...I would rather have the US controlling the world than the Russians or the Chinese...that's for damn sure..

Oh I have heard Canadians say eh....both on TV...hockey players...and in person. So it can't be untrue.

Of course Canadians have accents....so do Americans. So it can't be untrue.

I don't know any American that mentions tea in regard to Canada....so no.

As for assessment....if you haven't lived in the US you have no basis for making a quality of life statement. Most of the US is very safe to live in and while our medical isn't government.....it's better.

Anyway, I haven't seen many Americans make threads bashing other countries...yet those that live outside the US do so many times...so his question was valid.
