Yeah... I don't really eat them anymore, but I used to eat them when I was tired and didn't want to make anything that would take more effort. They're hot, easy, and anything tastes kind of good if you add enough msg. Plus I am so not a picky eater. That helps.
Cheap, quick, easy. Nowadays I've graduated to Cup-o-Soups. I always keep one in my desk's 'snack draw' here at the office. Ya never know when it will come in handy.
I used to pour tap water into the cup and microwave the entire thing for 3 minutes. If they tasted truly disgusting, that means you cooked them wrong. They can taste bad to some people, but never disgusting unless someone ****ed them up. Not being ableto cook ramen noodles is a sign of failure.

they taste good, and are incredibly cheap.
also, any Ramen aficionado knows you add stuff to the broth to make it taste good.
My favorite way to cook ramen is this:
Bring four cups of water to boil
And two packages noodles and cook ramen according to instructions (I like the creamy chicken personally, but pork is good as well)
Turn off heat, and add: 2 Tbsp soy sauce, 1/4 tsp sesame sead oil, 1 tsp Sri Racha chili garlic sauce. Mix.
Add cubed tofu
let sit for five minuts
I also like adding old BBQ (BBQ pork, chicken, tritip, etc) to it as well. Adds a nice smoky flavor.
Honestly I like ramen because it gives me a chance to put leftovers to good use.
I eat Okinawan Soba instead now. I used to eat Ramen, but it got boring.Mr_Cumberdale
and soba is soooooooooooo much better for you.
Ramen is just fried noodles, basically, that have been dried out.
in my experience it really depends on the brand. Somehow certain brands have managed to make their noodles taste like plastic while others taste like, well, noodles.I think they must have changed the noodles. I used to LOVE cup o noodles but the ones I've bought over the past few months have tasted like total crap.

[QUOTE="Pirate700"]We are talking about MSG... I thought that's what you meant because it came up in a google search. Could you explain? You don't know what MSG is? It's Monosodium Glutamate. It's a flavore enhancer that's big in China and all over asia. Here in the states though it's kind of frowned upon.[QUOTE="BranKetra"] Are you guys talking about Aspartame?BranKetra

imo maruchan ramen noodles taste best, though they will still taste like cheap food. no getting around that.
Not really. Kinda looks like that broad fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.
Don't lie to me - you want some Top Ramen right now.

So good.
They are quick, cheap and you can make variations of them, try putting slasa and lime juice in them they taste much better this way.

reminded of this
ramen + mac & cheese = amazing
also
you don't even have to boil the noodles or add water for ramen to taste good. put the block of noodles and the packet of tastiness into a ziploc bag, crush that s*** up, and eat it like chips.

If people are sensitive, they shouldn't throw pictures of themselves out onto the internet.Just recently, I attempted to eat chicken flavored ramen noodles. I cooked the noodles as instructed on the package, and they tasted horrible. It was as if I was eating plain noodles boiled in a mixture of water and salt. I know so many people that eat them, and actually enjoy them. Why is that? I just think they are so disgusting... Maybe it's just me. Anybody have thoughts on why ramen noodles are considered to be "good"?Bio-Infinite
:o Where are you that they cost that much? The cups are $.30 and the packs are only $.10 here.[QUOTE="TheShadowLord07"]

i've had chow mein a couple times. it was alright, but the brownish/black sauce you pour in after microwaving kind of grossed me out. i didn't like the way it smelled..:o Where are you that they cost that much? The cups are $.30 and the packs are only $.10 here.[QUOTE="Pirate700"]

MSG is soooooooooo tasty. There is nothing wrong with it, its just the fact an odd number of people are allergic to it, so it caused that whole MSG backlash/fear thing a few years ago.
I've had pure MSG diluted in water, it just tastes like salty broth...really savory.
