Why do people get their kids circumcised if not for religious reasons?

I understand parents who have their boys circumcised because of religious reasons but if someone is not religious then why put a kid through that? I feel like we are born the way we are for a reason. We have evolved to have these parts because we need them.

It has health benefits you know.BTW most women prefer circumcized #####.

Medical reasons. I'm not circumcised myself, but its cleaner, prevents dirt build up or infections or whatever.

Plus I hear some ladies prefer it, but once they go Spyder... they don't, um, go back.

Yea but cant you just pull the foreskin back. I mean its kinda like a garage. You can keep it in there for protection and then take it out when you need it. I've heard counter arguments say that guys that have had it done are less sensitive because it has constant friction while foreskin helps protect it.

Yeah dude but as the poster above said it prevents infections and its cleaner,plus there is also slightly less chance for contracting STDs.From what Ive heard,women prefer circumsized mostly for looks.

cuz an uncircumcise dick is gross. But some doctors say its better circumcised cuz and uncircumcised one could get infections and stuff. You arent putting a kid through nothing really, just cutting left over skin that has no porpuse wats so ever.

I cant believe people still think that having an uncircumcised penis necessarily means higher risk of infections.

There are entire first world countries where the custom of circumcision is not widespread (if it is practiced at all) and yet I havent heard anything about the male population of those countries having more problems with infections as opposed to countries where circumcision is the norm.

Assuming there is a higher risk, if it was noteably higher I'm sure those countries would consider circumcision as a good health measure and actively promote it.
