I don't...but I'd bet the people who do areof thenarrow minded-uber bible thumping type...just my opinion.
correction , as for me i dont hate atheists , they are people and they would be better than me , i hate atheism , it differs.i dont like/dislike people according to their beliefs.
For the same reason that people hate religious zealots. They cant keep their own beliefs or lack thereof to themselves.
No i do not want to hear about it. Thanks.

yeah how the hell does he do
He registered in 2004.I don't hate Athiests..
I'd sooner vote for a good person who was also Athiest then i'd vote for a fundamentalist of any ideology/religion.
got quite a few friends who are themselves athiest (both the strong and weak kind).
I can easily get really frustrated with a militant Athiest who wants to get in my face about my religion or beliefs about religion (both in terms of Islam specifically and religion in general).
an example of one i met, - and he has his own social awkwardness problems to work out - was when my friend Noah (who is a pretty devout Lutheran) first met him (Michael). and within the first 2 minutes Mike had already insulted Noah's religion without even getting to know the person.. to which my friend shot back "you know you'd make more friends if you didn't insult their beliefs in the first 5 minutes"..
Now as to why i think people hate Athiests?
I think it stems from a fear of "they have no central doctrine to pin them down, no set in stone moral code" and make the assumption that morality could only have occured via religion.
I think it CAN come from religion and from without due to human nature and a thing called evolution.
Therefore you'll get to hear a lot of heresay and bashing of Athiests on those grounds.
but that's what i think at least....
It's nice to be able to live and visit pluralistic societies like the US. it's jarring at first when your from a pretty purely homogenous country (like Saudi Arabia). get to learn a lot about other people, the good the bad, all of it from all sorts of angles.
[QUOTE="sosodat"]I thought that was the Christian's who were doing that. I think the rolling eyes indicates sarcasm.Because they want to burn the quran

I don't think people hate atheists. I think people hate the small select few that throw temper tantrums anytime there is a christmas tree on public grounds.
They're just too awesome for religious people to deal with. thriteenthmonkeI could also mention the ones who seem to think that they're intellectual super-humans because they can quote the Problem of Evil or the Omnipotence Paradox

Posting earns you the least amount of points toward your next level on GS. Being logged on, watching and commenting on videos, stories, and participating in events I'm almost certain are better ways to earn points.
And I don't think people hate Atheists as much as they hate Atheism (as someone above pointed out).
As someone else above posted once again, the moral code issue is a big one. If Atheists don't believe in the sacredness of a lot of religious things, like an afterlife, procreation, marriage between man and woman, then it could possibly "insult" someone.
[QUOTE="Wolls"]Well im agnostic (i think) nobody hates me :DSaudiFuryit's nice sitting on fences eh? :D I would just as easily attend church if being atheist caused me grief.

Or the ones who seem to think that occam's razor in infallible, and that their idea of what the path with the fewest assumptions is is always right. I've also noticed that quite of few of them won't accept anything as fact unless it's placed neatly in their lap with a ribbon on it. Thousands of eyewitnesses be damned.
