Why do people like dubstep so much?

So when I talk to people on the internet, they say their favorite type of music is 'dubstep'. So I looked into it and listened to a couple of songs, and it just sounded like repetitive techno to me. But it probably wouldn't be fair to judge a genre that I know little about, so I was wondering if you could give me a link to your favorite dubstep songs, so I could farily judge it. And I would also appreciate if you could answer the question of 'why do people love dubstep so much?'.

To all those who hate dubstep, you should check out Skrillex. It's not really so repetitive and slow.. but it has a lot of energy in it. This is one of my favourites from him: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgmCVAdzT5E

To all those who hate dubstep, you should check out Skrillex. It's not really so repetitive and slow.. but it has a lot of energy in it. This is one of my favourites from himbrandontwb

While I dig Skrillex, there are bound to be electronic aficionados who will dog on you for promoting him.
