Yeah have to agree with this. Escpecially if Im all stuffed up and want to spit out musus. I would rather spit it out then have it go back into my body and get more sick.
I don't know, it grosses me out. There's a convenience store across the street from my school, and a lot of people hang around outside and smoke. They also LOVE to spit on the ground every 30 seconds, it's sick. And very unattractive. I try to avoid walking near them if I ever go there.

Serious response: Whenever I just swallow my spit, my mouth ends up watering again. If I spit it out, it's fine.I'm ususally more courteous, though. I spit it behind a bush or something, not on the sidewalk.

I never worked out why. Just swallow it, for Christ's sake. The sound and the sight is completely disgusting. Spitting is the sort of thing you should be fined for.
I tend to do it sometimes. :? But l live in a town so it's not all that bad, plenty of ditches and what not. When l'm in a city l don't spit on the streets. I picked up the habit from a friend back when l was around 15. >_>

Unlike you (apparently), I choose not to equate my mouth with my bladder. Bladders have a single purpose. Mouths have multiple. If my mouth is occupied with holding something in it, then I can't do all those other things my mouth does.

Honestly, spitting out of a fast moving car is a bad idea, you have a good chance of hitting your own car doing that. Yeah, I know. I always spit on myself just riding the bike. >_> I accept it as well deserved irony.
