people who committed other crimes don't have to register for anything?

Especially because some of the "sex offenders" aren't really bad, but they are lumped with the sicko's. Some have to register if say: A guy is 20 and his girlfriend is 17 and they have sex and the girls parents find out.

Why do sex offenders have to register anyway? I just don't get where or why it started.

Btw I don't believe pedophilia is a "disease". Behind attracted to someone or something is hardly a disease, in my opinion.

I don't think a sex offender registry is a bad idea.. but 1. I don't think it should be for life. 2. I don't think all sex offenders should have to register. Such as a 20 year old guy having sex with his 17 year old girlfriend.. That guy would be labeled a sex offender for the rest of his life..

Tracking systems use "classes" that are defined by the crime.

A child molester would be red and a guy who gets drunk and gropes someone will be under a different field.
