Why do so many Americans hate Sarah Palin?

I'm not trying to defend her or anything, infact I know next to nothing about her. I was just wondering why she seems to be hated upon so much.

I think she gives a bad impression on other countries of what we actually think like. That's why I don't like her anyway.

I have heard her say some stupid things and I have heard from others that she has stupid ideas about certain issues which was kinda confirmed by the stupid things I heard her say.

This^ It drives me crazy that people are actually talking about her running for president in 2012...I don't care if she is likeable and more like your everyday person...that is such a ridiculous reason to vote for someone...I don't want an everyday person who is "more like us" running the country, that was the same argument people used for Bush, and the excuse they used when he said feces instead of fetus etc....it frustrates me to no end that voters think like that. Her only experience is being Governor of Alaska for heavens sake and she does not know enough about the world to be a viable candidate, and telling me that you can teach her all of those things before then doesnt make me feel any better about it. I don't hate her, it's more that I am just annoyed with reasoning that people use to justify her ability to run our country etc

I don't hate her. I just think she is an utterly incompetent moron who has no business making politics her career. It annoys and irritates me that there apparently are people in the US who seem to genuinely believe she's qualified for any kind of public office at all. Unless that office is "Village Idiot" she not smart and well educated enough for it, and the notion that she will be by 2012 is laughable.ChiliDragon

I think the only people supporting her for 2012 are actually closet democrats who know there is no chance in hell of Palin beating a democratic candidate.

Those on the left dislike her based solely upon political ideology.

Some dislike her based upon her drawing power at speaking events.

Although it's true that a lot of people hate Republicans just because they're Republicans (you should hear my parents and brother go on about Republicans... I swear, they make me look like a conservative... :|), I think most of the hatred comes from her stupidity/whining about the media. :P

This.... The media had a bias towards Sarah Palin, and the typical ignorant person ate it up. I wouldn't personally want a woman being president anyways tbh, but I did not hate her. You realise that Obama has shown to be pretty dumb, no one seems to care on the left >_>. Its a good thing that my life does not revolve around politics:)
