Misconceptions and failure to understand that there are "some" good rap/hip hop out there. Mainstream pretty much made the the genre look like complete ****. CommanderShiroI agree with that.

My opinion has changed since 2008, I still like rap but I could care less if anyone hates it lol. I'm also not a big rap fan like I used to be, more into metal now but I still like hip hop.
[QUOTE="firechime"]hey jerk face i hate hip hop because i just don't want to see my share or whole of the animals of this planet if they do evenly walk on two legs walk and talk like hip hopers and cartoon characters i grew up with. i also had a bad experience with hoodrats i don't like their attitudes i think there music is filthy!!Mega-Mustaine
Dude.
This thread is from 2008.
Yeah I just realized it myself. Why are we bumping old threads?
It's boring. There's not much going on.I'll only listen to rap if it's ambient noise, but never if I'm concentrating on my music.
[QUOTE="Scatheloke"]It just sucks. Its not music. All rappers are gangster posers, can barely speak english, etc.

Um no? They aren't all "gangster" posers.
Actually, they can all speak english.
It is music actually, you know those beats you hear in rap songs? Yeah that is music.
I am so tired of people saying that rap isn't music, um yeah it is music.
People say all rappers just rap about hoes and them selves, um no they don't..
I can say things like that too but about rock music, like they only sing about drugs, they never sing about anything important..
They always sing about the devil..I know that isn't true but yeah..Just making a point..
Not all rappers rap about the same thing, maybe listen to more rap and you will understand.
Listen to the song breakfast club by z trip and the murs, that isn't about hoes and money and how hardcore they are.
I think I have a theory on their hate. It starts at an around 6th grade when kids begin to become more independent of their music listening habits. Only they think their are being independent. They usually have an influence such as have an older sibbling or school peers who plants those thoughts into their mind with mesages and stickers on their binders "can't spell crap without rap" style of messages. They also want to fit in with a certain crowd (same goes for everyone not just rap haters) so they will dress alike with band t-shirts and black pants. Some will grow out their hair too.
So basically it is a childish way of thinking in order to feel accepted by the people they choose to befriend. Some do know what they are talking about but most don't.

The sound of it annoys me along with the culture. The only kind of rap I like is 80's old school but in comparison to todays stuff it is totally different.honkyjoeSame. It doesn't sound catchy, or like music, to my ears. I also despise the culture it breeds
