Why do some people put their Gamespot profile as private?

I remember some guy said that someone made fun of his blog in the System Wars just because he was losing. That's a low thing...And there are stupid adults out there...

Anyone heard on CNN about the girl who was lured into suicide from cyber bullying from 30+ olds.

I do not care if a person makes fun of me...The mods will beat their little butts to banned land.

I didn't understand why until this happend:

So I finally decided to post a pic of me on one of those threads where you do just that.

The next day I get a freaking message from a guy who made an account JUST to send me a stalker-esque message.

He was trying to talk to me by saying how he was just like me blah blah blah. So cliche, *shakes head* I told him to screw off.

Answer: Because some people post a pic of themselves and don't want any stalkers.

if they're so scared of people stalking them how about they put a fake city name???? OH yea, that would actually make sense............ Not letting someone track you in a forum is like trying to be invisible in class. If you dont want to interact then dont come.

I guess you're talking about me. Some dude was insulting my financial status because I couldn't afford a PS3. That's why I put my profile to private, so he couldn't post it anymore. I deleted it now so my profile isn't private any longer.

It's so wierd. Even tho that user is my friend I can't see the profile.turgore

It may be they set it completely private, or it may be they set it for friends and mods only. There is a glitch at moment where you can click on the link to a friends' blog and get the message that their profile is private, yet if you go through the contacts page and search for their name there you can get in that way.
