Why do we still need phonecalls when we have Facebook?

When we have Facebook. youknow, you can text messaging to friends and families on laptop/PC/or cellphone if they're on your Facebook friendslist. just like we could texting on cellphones... only Facebook is free(internet fees). Cellphones are not cheap.

What Im trying to say is: to save some money spending on your cellphone bills. use your laptop instead. ..... Good idea?..Yes or No?

No, it's in no way a good idea.

the real question is why use facebook if you have cellphones? other than to show off some self indulgent photos to your friends.

Um, because of portability. Plus a lot of people use their phones to access facebook. As for phones being expensive... computers are more so. Plus the cost of internet access and such.

My laptop doesn't fit in my pocket. And I like being able to get ahold of people on the go, and vice versa; instead of waiting to get home and to get on facebook. My phone, like most modern smart phones these days, has access to the web and a facebook app. Also, not everyone I know uses facebook.

How do you plan on checking your facebook or texting someone or calling someone while you're out in someplace that's not convenient to carry a laptop around or find a hotspot? What say you on that Sherlock? . . . I don't know about you but when I'm out with the friends say at a bar or wherever, I don't have time to say, "Hold on guys. I've got to go find a wi-fi area so I can get on facebook to text you all on your laptops. I know I have a phone but I'd rather use my laptop."

umm because you cant use facebook on ur laptop while you do such things as walk on a treadmill at the gym sit on the bus or even text in class...besides you can use your phone for facebook....

Is this a serious question? The only valid argument I could see here is possibly saving money on text messaging fees by instead using Facebook's messaging services. Besides that it is still a necessity in modern culture to be able to verbally talk to people, not only for personal matters, but for business related matters as well. Ghost_702
