Why do we still need phonecalls when we have Facebook?

for a hermit, this is a great idea. for those of us who actually have social lives and do leave our houses and want jobs this is the worst idea imaginable.

making a phone call is quicker than facebook. lets face it. if you cant afford to make a quick phone call maybe you should be spending less time on facebook anyway.

How do you propose we access Facebook on to go? I don't sit in my house all day, and I am sure as hell not carrying an expensive laptop to a bar.

If only we had some kind of technology that we can carry around in our pockets that lets us access Facebook...

How am I supposed to contact some one via facebook when I'm out of the house? I'm not carrying a laptop around with me everywhere I go. And even if I did, I wouldn't have an internet connection when I'm sitting on a bus.

And you can't call people on facebook, which is the first way I every try to get in touch with some one.

When we have Facebook. youknow, you can text messaging to friends and families on laptop/PC if they're on your Facebook friendslist. just like we could texting on cellphones... only Facebook is free(internet fees). Cellphones are not cheap.

What Im trying to say is: to save some money spending on your cellphones. use your laptop instead. ..throw your cellphones away... Good idea?..Yes or No?

not everyone has facebook, and cell phones will be around longer than facebook will...so basically cellphones>facebook

Reading the TC's replies, I'm going to safely assume he's just trolling right now. I mean, come on, who with common sense would expect you to contact the police, the fire department, or paramedics via Facebook?

I don't use Facebook anyway and I'm not planning to open an account anytime soon. Good luck talking to me.

What if you're in a car crash and need to call for help? Are we supposed to just log into Facebook and update our status to "in car crash, send help"?

My phone has Facebook so....

I love you for this TC. Not because I think you are right, but because so many people here tend to hate facebook.

Mobile phones are just that, mobile. It's a whole lot easier to send a text message to someone, or even send them a message over facebook, through your mobile than lugging a laptop around.

If we're not at home and there's an emergency....
