Why do you think the Gamespot Moderators chose to be Moderators?

Do you think that they accepted to be mods because they care about the safety of GameSpot forums? Or do you think they did it cause they thought it would be fun to have authority?

Power lust, that's my basic assumption. It's an unpaid, thankless job, there seems to be no other logical reason.

God chose them. More of the power trip though. They get to do the moderator warning - point loss for every comment I make..

i'm not sure about the others,but gabu once told me he can't sleep at nights thinking about the possible moderations he's going to do during the following day

They weren't chosen. They had no say in the matter. They were kidnapped as children and brutally trained at young ages to deal with trolls and spam.

I'm sure they just do it because they like four asterisks with people. They just want to antagonize.

They're protecting and serving their online community, being a part of something greater than themselves, to make a difference in their community and ensure a safe environment for everyone. They accept the great burdon that we should all be thankful we don't have to share. Without them, the boards would be like a nation without police. It would be in chaos.
