[QUOTE="dirtydishko2"] Towards what end? Let's be honest. The only reason people do anything like this (working out, good job, making money) is to get laid. The ultimate goal of most people's activities is to get laid. It is the ultimate goal in life. To get laid.Brazil_Surfer

Perhaps you were struggling in that regard, leaving you to believe in this misconception. But I was happily with my girlfriend before I started working out. I do it soley to look better and feel better about myself.

ok that is all good and well, but let me ask you, why do you want to look better? Is it to appeal to the opposite sex so you can... get laid?

Maybe because you can actually want to look good for YOURSELF. Strange I know but self-esteem does that.

Other. I don't get a welfare allowance so I need muscle to beat up others so I can take their monies. As to working out, you left out the most important reason to work out. HEALTH!

I started to get better at the APFT quickly, post injury. Resistance training became an obsession; I saw the potential to get stronger and sexier.

Pretty much just to look a little better.

Yeah this

Maybe according to Freud, but he was projecting.

Do it to keep fit and in case I get in a fight, I can at least throw a strong punch or kick.

For confidence and bully points I've been bench/curling off and on for about 2 months now. I figured after doing the same thing for so long I'd be swole as **** Lifting is a scam

I'm pretty skinny (like 55kg), so I workout because I want to get fit, it looks better, keepsme from being lazy and it's good to get into a routine.

Well mine is:

1: To be in peak physical condition for sports so i can perform at my best

2: Look good for the ladies and to boost self esteem.

3: It keeps me motivated and its good to live on a schedule thats not just about school or work ect.

4: it encourages me to eat healthy, before i started working out i never ate even close to healthy and now i dont even touch some food like doughnuts.

Well legs are very important even if they arnt seen, as when they are worked they release twice the amount of muscle growth hormones than any other muscle and those hormones helps with the growth of every muscle in the body, and they are vital for many sports.

Currently, i'm out of shape but working my way into my former HS glory. I dropped 30Lbs in the last 6 months and currently working on losing another 20 before the summer. In HS i liked the attention i got and doing things others couldn't do. Benching 315lbs, doing 70 straight push-ups etc. I just looked good and felt good.
