Why does it seem like no one cares about the state initiatives this election?

Gay marriage on the ballot in four states - Maine, Washington, Maryland, and Minnesota
Legalizing marijuana in two states - Colorado and Washington

Besides California's propositions there's also some immigration laws going around that I don't know much about, maybe someone could fill me in. It'll be be interesting to watch especially because all of these have a big chance of passing.

I don't keep track of any of that. New York doesn't allow propositions on the ballot anyway.

Because the economy is a hell of alot more important than weed and the goverment blessing gay marriage.

voting no on both the voter ID and the gay marriage amendment here in Minnesota.

A LOT of placards on peoples lawns where i am and in the cities with "vote yes" and "vote no". even a billboard on I-35 for vote yes on the gay marriage ban with a hetero black couple as the pic.

the conservatives put a weird wording on it, it's called "vote yes for marriage" as though heterosexuals can't get married. it's just word playing, the truth of it is it it's "vote yes to ban gay marriage in the state of Minnesota".

The initiatives in Arkansas are pretty talked about. We've got medicinal marijuana and gambling on our ballots, which are pretty contentious.

well sure, the feds might raid the shops selling it (that should be intersting), but i mean that it will be legal under state law for recreational use not just medical use.

I may be wrong but i dont think they can just veto it, but they can show up and raid the shops and arrest the people selling it. If it passes (and it will) Washington state is basically going to war with the feds over it. Should be pretty crazy~

All in all it seems that its just a question of time before you see it being sold for recreational use in most states. People have had it with a losing drug war. So much revenue to be generated from it. They are saying like 1.5 billion over 2 years in Washington state.

Well, you aren't getting felony level charges for marijuana in Cali so obviously the dopers you are referring to are into some hard level **** Either way, your problem seems to be with drug policy and not the three strikes rule.
