Why dont many girls like gaming

i think more and more women are getting into video games, i mean look at the Wii revolution that has swept the nation, especially when they came out with WiiFit, but also i think the DS seems to have a lot of games that are slanted towards women/girls as well, i mean there is the commercial with Beyonce playing the DS.....

but in my experience most women ive dated that told me they really enjoyed video games did so as more of a passing fancy, they enjoyed them for a little bit, but games never really drew them in....... but im sure there are plenty of women out there who really do enjoy video games, they just may not "advertise" it as much as guys often do......

Most girls catch on to "trends" or go shopping or do other stuff. Today, it just seems like most girls think its not cool or hip to play video games, most likely because thats what mtv says.

I hate girls like that....most guys do....the girls that pretend to know nothing about technology, wear ugly beachy colors like lime green and pink, walk around with their hippie flowery purses and whine constantly about crap that literally means nothing to me.

Dont get me wrong, I love girls, just the preps and stuck up **** i hate.

I dont think violence appeals to women the way it does to men. I have seen alot of women who play Zelda and Mario games, though.

I (Actually the dog) calls for a 1 on 1 online multiplayer match to end this dispute. The winner gets 2 mins of fame before we forget everything and stop caring. ;)

Many videogames involve a lot of violence, and some girls don't care for that. I'm one of them. So that rules violent games out. Others I have no interest in playing at all. Such as most sports games. Sports bore me, so that rules those out. I also get bored very quickly and I've found that most of the games I've tried can't keep me interested for long. I'd like to find videogames that I love and truly want to play over and over, but it's very difficult. I also have other interests that don't allow me to spend all of my time searching for or playing videogames. And I wouldn't be able to ever be a "gamer" or someone super dedicated to playing something for hours on end because I just don't have that kind of time.

I'll tell you why, because it's really quite simple if you think about it.

It's a government conspiracy.

Hear me out: Women are usually the "physically weak" of the human species; less upper body strength makes them unable to fight as brutally as men. However, if you've ever seen a cat fight, you know that this does not stop women from tearing people's eyes out over something as simple as perfume. The women in question don't even need any training; any regular soccer moms can pull over the minivan and snap in front of their carpool for no particular reason.

Now, imagine if these creatures came upon the violent influence of videogames. Their naturally inhibited She-Ra genes would only be strengthened and encouraged by the mess we see on games. Grand Theft Auto, Call of Duty, God of War, Viva Pinata; any one of these would send women over the freaking edge and give them more than enough collective power to overrun the patriarchal government and do girly things with it, like call up France for a sleepover so they can talk about how cute Spain is and have pillow fights. The government can't have this, of course, so they have doctors plant a microchip into the brains of women whenever they are born that gives them a "natural" disdain for videogames, leaving the men in charge of the world while the ladies stay in the kitchen.

That microchip also causes periods.

I don't agree in goverment conspiracy thing but I do agree in violence.

My mom was a player, she starts with the colego vision then my uncle, my brother and I, so I was raised in the gaming atmosphere, you know, violence and competence. Because of that I used to have so many problems in school because I liked to fight without knowing the stupid skinny little spaghetti girl I was, but I just wanted to be the strongest and the best(didn't know why it's kind of crazy and scary but I think it is the instincts) . I was so stupid that one day I prayed to God to give me special powers to kick those kids butt, making that I realized that I will never be powerful with a violent attitude.

The thing is that most girls (not all) are raised to be liked and social, focusing them to be more like men object. Videogames are mostly for non social people with big imagination.

And don't forget the producer of prince of Persia is a woman, I think.

I know plenty of girls have no issues with violence, which is why I said "some girls". The rest was just an example about me personally, not saying that all those games were ruled out for all girls. Just for me.

actually my buddy at work bought a Wii, and WiiFit for his gf for her birthday, and she loved it, another one of my friends bought WiiFit for his wife for X-mas, once again, she was quite happy with the gift...... so yeah actually it CAN end well! ;)
