You add up all the civilian deaths from America's birth, up until today. Japan, Vietnam, Iraq. It's only a FRACTION of what Germany did.

Germany killed 6 million Jews in cold blood. America accidentally killed civilians in an attempt to END wars or take down evil regimes.

So why is America criticized when all the accidental civilian deaths are a mere FRACTION of what countries like Germany and Russia have done? I think don't think Germans are in any position to judge ANYBODY. That country will have to live down what it's done, and they will have to be humble and not criticize anyone. That's what happens when your country is responsible for GENOCIDE.

Coming from a Jewish heritage I have to say honestly get over it. What the Nazis did was atrocious but that was a long time ago now. Sometimes you have to let things go and stop blaming a country for its past.

The reason people can complain so much about America is what they are complaining about is happening in present day

Because America's dubious role in international politics continues today whereas Germany's role in WW2 is such a long time ago that not many people that took part in those crimes survive to this day.

And I'm not sure about America getting treated worse. Everybody someone mentions Germany or German every mongrel out there is cracking jokes about Hitler and the Nazis, as if Germany is nothing more than that.

If you find a Nazi that is still out there and alive than no you should not turn a blind eye. They are still war criminals so they deserve to be arrested and done with what you will. I am talking about the people who still blame Germany for that war like the entire country is still exactly the same as when the war was ongoing. That is what I mean by get over it

Second, it's because the holocaust has long been history and most people alive don't remember it. However, Americas committing these crimes at the present day. Now, Germany is easily one of the best countries in the world

I don't see many people in the modern era "still blaming" Germany for WW2. Certainly not to the degree that US gets hated because on because of their invovlement in the Korean, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan wars.

Both countries have dark histories. However, the Germans in particular are ashamed about even talking their past-they've suffered a hell lot with the post-WWI debts and Hitler's rule, not to mention the Iron Curtain dividing their country for over half a century.

However, I've seen Americans boast about their feats but they act like their past didn't exist. Note that this is not directed at anyone should they feel offended. They've also lied and cheated to get what they want-their government is just that shadowy.

It seems to me that what a country is doing right now is a bit more relevant and deserving of present criticism than what a country did some 65-70 years ago.

And for those people who thought Germans were all Nazis during WW2, no they weren't. The Nazis were Hitler's personal elite force responsible for the atrocities-most of the men doing the fighting for him were enlisted German soldiers.

Only when the Allies beat him back into Germany did Hitler's elites take action.

I never said otherwise. There are few people who physically remember the holocaust that are still alive. It's history now. The only way for people to learn about it is through books now. Therefore, people think of it as a long time ago and know that Germany has changed since then. They should also know that it was Nazi Germany who were the architects of the holocaust.

Justice. Some of them were following orders, but many enjoyed what because they were jealous of Jews at the time and blamed them for WW1. Those who had absolutely no choice to do what they did will have got a lenient, if any, jail sentence. The rest were found out and rotted in jail.

There isn't really a point for jailing some Nazi leader-he was just probably following orders from a higher chain of command. So what if you execute or force him to rot in a cell? It's not like it's going to magically resurrect 1 million prisoners of war.

What justice? Does jailing them undo the damage of the Holocaust? Does it bring back friends, family, loved ones that people lost decades ago? Does it rewrite history such that WWII never happened? Any of those would be justice. But what you speak of is simply revenge.

There is no real "justice" in the world. The sooner one realizes this and adapts their world view to accept this fact, the better.

Because the Nazi party doesn't represent Germany now and hasn't for over half a century? The US government hold many similarities with the time it was around.. It also since the Cold War has become the next imperialist power.. This along with the general disregard that the citizens of the US think often times the US has done nothing to piss many people off int he world when they have infact have.

[QUOTE="CannedWorms"]They have done terrible things so they should all be exposed for what they did. It doesn't matter how long ago it was, justice is justice.GabuEx

This. Besides, most of the WW2 nazies are dead now.

Does jailing a murderer undo the damage of a the victims family? I'm not too sure where you're with this to be honest. If there are survivors of the holocaust still living, as well as victims families, then all Nazi's need to be captured and trailed. Justice is revenge:).

Cause WW2 was 60 years ago, its only a small blurp in people's memories these days. In a few years, kids will be learning about the Iraq War and both the World Wars will be small little side notes in a history text book. Like "The Internet was created during in wartime*See Footnotes for information*".

By that logic, then why punish anyone? If there is no "justice" then what's the point of having jails or criminal justice systems?

Because all us obese people in the U.S are retaining more heat than most others, thus they are HEAVILY (no pun intended) contributing to global warming. That's why everyone hates US.

darkmark91
if we are retaining more heat, then aren't we contributing to Global Cooling? I mean if we are grabbing that excess heat then the atmosphere can't....America is a pretty cool guy i guess.

.. Because those people are dangers to society?? You make it sound like you either kill Jeffery Dhamer or you release him.. You put him in prison so he never puts any of the population in danger again.. That is the purpose of prison, that and rehabilitation if its possible..
