Germany and Russia have gotten better, while the US has gotten worse.
Pretty simple answer if you ask me.
kerrman
Not really, collateral damage in one form or another has always existed in warfare.
In fact, it's a lot better nowadays, because we try to avoid it.
Germany and Russia have gotten better, while the US has gotten worse.

Wrong.. Its because Germany and Russia are not ran by the same Communist or Fascist regime in which people are discussing.. While the US many of the dark parts of the history in the last 60 years, like the putting in power the Shah and supporting them are more or less the exact same government..
I couldn't sworn it was 9 million, but I might be wrong. You add up all the civilian deaths from America's birth, up until today. Japan, Vietnam, Iraq. It's only a FRACTION of what Germany did.
Germany killed 6 million Jews in cold blood. America accidentally killed civilians in an attempt to END wars or take down evil regimes.
So why is America criticized when all the accidental civilian deaths are a mere FRACTION of what countries like Germany and Russia have done? I think don't think Germans are in any position to judge ANYBODY. That country will have to live down what it's done, and they will have to be humble and not criticize anyone. That's what happens when your country is responsible for GENOCIDE.MaxPred2010
1 death is a tragedy, 1 million is a statistic.

False. That is a major myth. If you do your research you would know there have been MAJOR improvements over the past 60 years.[QUOTE="kerrman"]False. That is a major myth. Wrong, the mentality of both parties is different. The republicans are nowhere near as racist as they used to be. Even the Dems have changed a lot, to assume we are the same as 1945 is wrong. We have made mistakes, but we are not the monster some claim we are/[QUOTE="sSubZerOo"][QUOTE="kerrman"]

I would say even foreign policy, there are things you could do in 1950 that would get you arrested now. Not perfect, but getting better. Of course I leave Bush out of this.Lets not forget that Germany suffered heavily fromthe Treaty of Versailles, which is propbebly the most atrocious peace treay ever imagined. Heers a rundown:
Of the many provisions in the treaty, one of the most important and controversial required Germany to accept sole responsibility for causing the war and, under the terms of articles 231–248 (later known as the War Guilt clauses), to disarm, make substantial territorial concessions and pay reparations to certain countries that had formed the Entente powers. The total cost of these reparations was assessed at 132 billion Marks (then $31.4 billion, £6.6 billion) in 1921 which is roughly equivalent to $400 Billion US Dollars as of 2010, a sum that many economists at the time deemed to be excessive.
So in effect, the Allies inadvertantly started WW2. So brining up Hitler and "Nazi's" for WW2 and claiming morle supperiorty is very ironic.

The strategy and goals have largely been unchanged for multipel decades, only the tactics have changed..

Merely our tactics have changed, to recently the far worse in unilateral infringment on countries of no threat.. Israel is still supported iwth out questioned like it has since the late 60s.. The US is still supporting dictatorships for their own material gain, while ignoring human rights violations and what not.. No in many parts of the world, the US foreign policy has not changed.. Especially when compared to the immense changes in both Russia and Germany..

Ugh! I am talking about foreign policy...Nevermind.Furthermore Bush was hardly a game breaker.. He only supercharged the policies already in place.. Presidents from Eisenhower to Reagan and Bush Sneior all did things in their foreign policy that pissed people off.. And the US has yet to make a contridiction of the long standing goal of getting control over the Middle East for the control of resources, namely oil..

Bush starting a preemptive war isnt a gamebreaker for sure. And the last part is false, it is a long standing belief that we wantz tehz ools, but yet Afgahnistan has none and most if not all those nations have governments installed not friendly to us. Taking control of that region for ools is false. Whatever, you are going to believe whatever you want and I will believe what I know is true. Going on here is pointless for both of us. Oh and I love how you leave Clinton out of this, like bombing Iraq to avoid impeachment never angered anyone or he didnt continue Bush sr's policies on Iraq.[QUOTE="EsYuGee"]

I think my Native American ancestors have a thing or two to talk with America about genocide. Does American have to live that down then?
Americans didn't commit "Native American Genocide". There were laws protecting Indian lands etc...Are you referencing to diseases that were brought over? If so, you cannot blame early settlers for diseases that Native Americans have not been introduced to.I suggest you visit wikipedia and read up on native american history.
