Why is everything forcing us into using facebook?

These days seems like so many sites want us to just use facebook. I wouldn't be surprised if gamespot accounts were replaced by facebook accounts. Don't people realise facebook is a fad and a lot of people don't use it?

Meh, I like facebook. Basically it's my way to communicate with my friends without having to call them. I hate talking on the phone. 

I don't use facebook and I've never felt forced into it. Some sites I use do allow you to sign in with an FB account, but they all have the option to sign in without FB as well.

Don't know and don't care anymore. Deactivated my Facebook a few days ago and it's set to delete within a couple of weeks.

No, myspace was a fad.

Poor myspace.

Perhaps facebook wants you to say the word facebook out loud, and realize that you were always slamming that face into the book, but not reading it.

The more you slammed your face into it, the more you began to believe that you were reading it.

could not imagine NOT having a facebook act..i stay on it even at work. AND if it wasnt facebook it would still be myspace..Ive connected with so many old friends and met some really cool people..and chat with family..DAILY..share pics,videos,thoughts,ask questions,ect..LOVE IT

I barely use Facebook. I never been a fan of social networking sites.

Well, Myspace never had a billion users.  Also, Facebook is a similar concept to Myspace, so the idea was not a fad, or at least not as shortlived as Myspace itself.  I'm not a big fan of facebook, but I think people who don't use it call it a fad as a way to justify their lack of facebook account.  

I see social networking sites such as facebook and others continuing to stick around for many years to come as the internet becomes a more and more popular place.  How they are treated, and what they do may vary, but I don't think we're going back to a world without this sort of interconnectedness.

Because it's a clever way for the government to spy on us.

I do prefer black underwear.
