Why is Google Chrome faster than Safari?

Technically, Safari 10 is faster than Google Chrome, but I started using Chrome, and DAMN it's blazing fast. I used Safari before this, and it was fast, but Chrome is just... WOW. So why is Chrome faster, when the specs show that Safari is the fastest?

i switched from firefox to google chrome like months ago. major difference in speed. the only thing i like about firefox over chrome is because of its addons.Meowmixxvi

for me chrome crashes alot, so i go for safari
