People who didn't see any appeal in sex wouldn't have passed on their genes, and our species would have died out by the "first" generation. From a religious perspective, God (whomever yours may be) created humans, and formed them with two separate genitalia that are vital to the process. So, from a religious perspective, sex isn't bad, though most religions do teach to abstain from it until marriage. The fact that it feels good is just a bonus.
