Theres seems to be two different N words. One that we hear everyday that is supposably not offensive when used by a black person.
Then theres the other one thats used only to offend or hurt a black person.
I get pissed when I'm called either one. Even by another black person. I find it degrading.
I sort of see what your trying to say, alot of black people use the N word, and when somebody else says it, they act like they've never heard it before. Alot of people think its just an excuse for violence these days.
it may be shocking to you but for others its not.lugiemojeed
It's shocking enough that a couple guys can falsely call themselves Reverends and use a team of lawyers of weapons, to the point of injustice.
[QUOTE="Constrobuz"]it's really not something white people will ever be able to understand. black people were enslaved and called that name during that time period. so being called that by a white person in 2007 is like reverting back to the time when black people were slaves and regarded as an inferior race, and is extremely insulting.mgreener_34dont pull that ****...blacks wernt the only god damn people who were slaves, and if anything your race should be on your knees to us for MAKEING YOUR FUTURE BETTER!!!! omfg go back to africa were youl most likely die before the age of 50 then sit here and complain about slavery...
im white actually. good job revealing yourself as an ignorant racist though.

I live in Australia and white people where sent to this place as convicts for stealing a loaf of bread. when the Brits call us convicts do we get offended? No, we dress up as convicts and beat them 5-0 in the Ashes. My point i, when they call you the N word you shouldn't get offended, you should dress up in slave clothes and beat them at Basketball.

you're an idiot. if someone steals something, they ARE a convict. if someone's skin is black it does not mean they ARE an inferior race. terrible comparison.
Blacks...sold blacks...blacks...are the reason blacks were slaves...not the white mans problem...Whites have also been slaves, but black people tend not to know that...Ask the jews they will tell you...and btw im not racist im just a white supremest  mgreener_34
WTF is the difference.
It is so shocking because it relates back to slavery and my race was treated like dirt. I would like it if u never make a thread like this please and thank u.MgamerBD
Were you treated like dirt? I find it more insulting that you think you can act like you went through hell when you have it easier than a lot of other people.

That in no ****ing way excuses slavery on anyone. And okay, keep calling yourself white supremacist if it makes you feel better.

in those times if a rich person stole something they where considered a thief, if a peasant stole something they where considered a convict and either hanged or sent to some other county, never to see there homeland or family again. If you where not rich then you where considered a peasant and peasants where considered inferior. Convicts where treated worse then slaves, atleast slaves had some value placed on them.

seriously, you're an idiot. in your example, a person commited a crime and is punished accordingly.
slaves didnt do anything wrong. they were taken from their villages and shipped to america against their will to be worked to death in bondage.
About all this slavery...talk to ancestors of Egyptians whose earlier generations dedicated their entire lives to building monuments for bloodthirsty tyrants they no doubt hated...Fortier
sure, if by hated you mean "worshipped like a god". and there wasnt much else to do in egypt other than build stuff, it's a desert.

Slaves definitely did not worship those they were enslaved by. And I'm not even dignifying that other statement...

Don't call him an idiot when he's simply making a comparison. And how would you feel if you were shipped half way across the word to an island of convicts just for stealing a potato. Food that you couldn't afford because you lacked the money.
Black people arn't making this N word situation any better. They say we can use this word because were black and you cant because your white. That sort of like when black people were forced to address all white man by sir. This ruins the purpose of equality when one person is prohibited from saying a word because of their color.
In my opinion is black people dont want to be called it, they shouldn't say it. Either version of it.

Punished accordingly? how stupid are you?
they steal a loaf of bread and they where given a choice. Either we hang you or we ship you to some country that in those times was seen a the closest thing to hell, halfway across the world permanently. If you think that taking a loaf of bread because you and your family is starving is doing something wrong, then your moral compass is really screwed up.

i believe black people continue using the word as a way of hanging onto their culture and never forgetting that part of their history. it really is just a word and white people shouldnt worry about it since it doesnt have anything to do with them anymore.

Cutlure, you call such a degrading word part of our culture. I'm black and I'm rather proud of it and I know for a fact that most young black people of this generation could care less about black history. And why should white person ignore a word their probably hearing constantly everyday from the radio or on the street.

the word is part of black culture, i dont know how you could deny that... and the fact black people dotn care about black culture doesnt really have anything to do with this discussion, it's just a sad fact.
and you answered your own question. white people shouldnt care about it because it's become such a normal thing to hear from black people.

So white people shouldn't care about something they cant say because of their skin color. Well I guess I can't explain this too a person thats not black, but theres two different camps of black people. Those that use the word saying its empowering, the majority basicallyand then theresthose like myself thatdont say it and think of itasdegrading.Creating yetanother unfair inequality with the other races.

They knew the consequences of stealing before they did it and they still risk so much just for a loaf of bread. Do you realy think they would have done it if they had any other choice?
It wasn't a case of white people seeing black people as inferior, it was a case of the rich seeing everyone else as inferior. Poor people didn't buy slaves and saying that white people can't use the N word purely based on skin colour is racist.
There aren't any "shocking" words for whites or asians because words like cracker org0ok are there JUST so there are racists words for both those races. The "n-word" actually has some sort of history to it.
Although most black people that use it probably dont know that at all. They are just ignorant. I will never understand why they will call each other it.
