From what I've seen it tends to be more toward the right wing members on the forum than the US in general. Considering from a European perspective the right wing Americans on this board are rather over the top.

A lot of Americans tend to be overly-patriotic.

They think America is the best at everything.

Sorry to burst your red, white and blue bubbles, but we're not.

Europeans know this.

Because most Americans aren't great people. Hopefully I'm not one of them. Any hatred from me toward another country comes down to my jealousy of British accents.

I don't even understand the greatness of your freedom. The term is thrown around a lot regarding the US but there's very little explanation for why it's better than the freedom anyone else has.

Y'know...because it's American freedom. Name me something Americans aren't the best at doing and I can immediately tell you something that is irrelevant.

I've visited the US 4 times and in some neighbourhoods it was getting to the point of becoming ridiculous. The stars and stripes on every single house, it almost seemed a competition for who could have the biggest flag pole. Also outside schools on big massive poles. It's just so unnecessary.

4th of July is American independence day, hence why there were so many flags during your visit. You really can't falt displays of patriotism in that instance. :?

I've seen plenty of public institutions in my four years in the UK with the Jack outside. Does that mean Britain is overly patriotic and should be hated?

I hate europe as much as I ''hate'' the U.S. The US seems to be improving their image while Europe...it just run by corrupt politician, bankers, fraudulent people, bilderbergers and plain criminals. At least the U.S. has some decent folk. There, I bashed my own continent. We Europeans don't like Europe at all. The Euro, the new coin and the European constitution has been shoved down our throat. The former leading to 20% price increases IN EVERYTHING and the latter just ensuring we lose more and more rights and power as civilians.

I've been a subject of both continents/regions for about the same amount of time, and I think I can safely say that you BOTH are about as equally ridiculous as the other in just about every aspect.

[QUOTE="Nick3306"][QUOTE="mikegtfc"][QUOTE="Verge_6"] Are you sure you weren't visiting during a national holiday? There's no flags where I am, and there are PLENTY of Russian ones to be seen in downtown Volgograd...

I've visited the US 4 times and in some neighbourhoods it was getting to the point of becoming ridiculous. The stars and stripes on every single house, it almost seemed a competition for who could have the biggest flag pole. Also outside schools on big massive poles. It's just so unnecessary.

I am sorry that you dont love your country as much as we do.

Showing love for your country is not based on how big your flag is. This is one of the reasons the US is looked upon badly by some people. Assuming because we don't hang flags from every orifice means we're anti-patriots is shameful. I love my country and the UK, I choose to hang the Union Jack inside my halls of residence on the wall. My Union Jack is the only flag i've seen in a 60 mile radius, I hang it because I love my country and what it represents but I wouldn't dream of hanging in on a flag pole outside. Patriotism is not just hanging a flag on your front door and it's about time some Americans understood this, get a grip and stop being so elitist.
