Why Youtube popular!

There r many sites like Youtube

So why youtube is soooooo much popular in people,Why Metacafe is not that popular than youtube?

just a simple question i am asking i know that only few people would know the answer

maybe because theyre connected with more popular sites, like google and stuff...

at least, i think thats how it works.

As a guess because people but better copyrighted videos on there

I guess because they were the first (i think) and got good connections (google for example).
