I don't see how that's dangerous, and if Britain objects to this, too damn bad. l4dak47
Yeah, it is not like they are one of America's best allies or anyth-oh, wait.
It most certainly doesn't. My only thought is how does this further Obama's goal to eliminate the world's nuclear supply?I really don't understand: why does it undermine the UK's security for someone just to know how many nukes they have, when they have publicly said how many nukes they have?

I don't care. Britain supported wikileaks. They support free speech more than America does, so f*** them and their allegiance.

maybe but this only strengthens the argument of people like me in Britain, who think we should get rid of 20 billion worth of useless nuclear weapons. if america is happy to sell us this, and then stab in the back, we might as well not bother and live under your nuclear shield for free

I mean I've seen pretty bad password protection before; it's conceivable that the launch code for each missile is programmed to be the serial number for convenience.
Well, if there's ever a recall, someone could mess with those serial numbers and they might not get a refund.[QUOTE="l4dak47"][QUOTE="Dark_Knight6"]

Assange would not be able to be tried in the US. He committed no crime under US law. The person who leaked the information was a military person and could legally be prosecuted under those laws.Links needed.[QUOTE="l4dak47"][QUOTE="Dark_Knight6"]

No, not really. I have not seen too many people advocate for his death here in the U.S. Especially polititcans. Once again, links needed.[QUOTE="Cataclism"][QUOTE="l4dak47"] Still don't care. But other countries do already know how many nukes Britain has, especially Russia. All they know is what Britain tells them. Unlike the US or Russia which tell everybody how many they have, Britain prefers to keep it somewhat secret due to the relatively small number of nukes. And that is exactly why Russia wanted this information. With the serial numbers, it's easier for them to guess the actual number more accurately.

You should really read up on british law and cases if you think that. Here's a link for a little info on it.

Shouldn't nuclear arsenals be public information? We have weapon inspectors in many countries just for that reason.[QUOTE="Cataclism"][QUOTE="l4dak47"] But other countries do already know how many nukes Britain has, especially Russia. sonicare

I know plenty about British law. Clearly if they support wikileaks while America condemns, it really says a lot about America and its "free speech".

I really don't see how this is that dangerous. Britian as an ally is also not a big gain for us. They went from worlds greatest empire to Island in Europe. Sorry brits. I believe an alliance with countries like India and Brazil possible superpowers of the future are more important.
Also I don't believe the number of nukes we claim we have or how many russia claims they have. Even with the inspections.I'm sure we both have a secret stockpile hidden somewhere deep in our terrority.

But I'm not arguing that, I'm not exactly defending Britain on their secretive policies. I'm merely pointing out that they won't like this because they have other policies. Whether I agree or disagree with it is a completely different discussion.
