I don't care what party the next president is in. I just hope he doesn't screw things up like bush and he actually does something unlike Obama. We need a president that will take action, but sensible action.

The Black people will vote for him still.

what about a black republican?

Lynn Swann's loss in Pennsylvania and Michael Steele's in Maryland ought to prove the point that black people don't vote for other black people just because they're black.

Considering that Obama has kept 92 of his promises, has reached a compromise on 32 more, and has 266 of his promises in the works, I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "actually doing something".

Whoever will do the right thing for our country at that moment in time will (hopefully) be elected. The party doesn't matter, but for some reason people love to label themselves and throw out their own beliefs in favor of the party's. That's the obstacle we've had with every election and the main issue with the bipartisan system to begin with.

Unless the republicans can put a real power house candidate together.. it's not likely Obama will be replaced. and so my prediction is.. Obama gets a second term.

44% of you think Obama will have a second term? hm wow, interesting. I think Palin, Glen Beck, or any other crazy republican will win the election. Then the world will end before they get in office, they were right about 2012!!

Given recent historical precedent, I'd say there's a pretty good chance that it will be a Republican. And if not, then the one after that will almost certainly be a Republican.

GabuEx

I would agree with this, however, if the economy recovers under Obama's watch, we'll probably have a couple more Democratic presidents. Still, within a decade, I'm sure a Republican will be in office.

I have heard some liberals claim we will never see another republican ever. I find that laughable, unless Obama's approval goes up we could have another republican and if not 2012 we will get one in 2016. But they need to correct the lies being spread around about the party and conservatism from various place if the party wants to remain viable.

I want a president who will do the following:

1) cut taxes

2) shrink government

3) unlock America's domestic energy supplies

4) bring market-based medical reform

5) nominate judges who will interpret the Constitution as it was originally written

6) build the border fence

I'll get none of these things with a Democrat, I might get some with a Republican.

I don't really know much about the US system and its history, but if the Republicans can get their act together they should be able to give Obama a run for his money. Obama promised big but is yet to follow through ... he is much like our KRudd

HomicidalCherry

Even if it does recover, a Democrat succeeding Obama would run against the grain. Just look at the history of presidents since 1960 who have been elected to a full term:

1. John F. Kennedy (D)
2. Lyndon B. Johnson (D)
3. Richard Nixon (R)
4. Jimmy Carter (D)
5. Ronald Reagan (R)
6. George H. W. Bush (R)
7. Bill Clinton (D)
8. George W. Bush (R)
9. Barack Obama (D)

By my count, that's two instances of the party staying in the White House and six instances of the party being kicked out. Even when the economy was good, Al Gore was unsuccessful in keeping the White House Democratic.

But I think a moderate republican running on fiscal responsibility and economic recovery will win.

You said they are spreading lies of of their own without providing one piece of evidence. I am not saying they dont do it, as I am sure they do. I am just saying unless something is backed up with evidence it is a claim. It is only factual when evidence is provided.

That is really an unfair assumption. I am sure some that know nothing of politics and that only go by racial loyalty will do what you claim. But to think that all are mindless drones and will only vote for him based on color and not performance is just wrong. You seriously need to give them more credit than this. Keep in mind, Obama would have lost the election without that support he received from caucasian people.

I hate to say but theres a lot of black people who don't like him (look up Joe Gully on youtube)and the idiot women called a radio station saying obama is going to give all the black people money will be sadly disapointed and will most likely not vote for him.

I'm starting to become disapointed with my own party, the republican party for a few reasons. Not matter what i will support the canidate who has my rights in intrest. Hopefully the meadia does not ignore Ron Paul should he run again.I hope to see the changes in therepublican party.

As much as I like this idea myself. I don't believe it would be entirely effective to have a neutral or independent president between the two major parties in the United States.. the system itself all ready lacks sufficient authority or power to create an momentum for governmental reform on a reasonable scale. And I believe a third party president would only make these reality worst. What comes to my mind is this.. it comes from the Karate Kid movies and is a simple concept. Mr. Migahy(spelling) tells Daniel Son that if you walk down the middle of the road you'll get run over by the traffic. He says to Daniel Son that if he doesn't choose right or left side of the road.. he will be squashed. In other words.. you have to choose a side. And our government.. unfortunately works the same way. SO, it would only magnify the problems.. But, maybe I'm wrong. I don't particular like our government anyways.

Depends who can appeal most to the independent voters out with their candidates (and his/her policy platform) come next election. Hopefully there'll not be another Bush effect.

To be honest, it wouldn't surprise me if it was Democrat victory though, the Republicans need to become more extroverted and more inclusive.

Still, it's too early to judge, a lot can happen in the space of time.

It's WAYY too early to tell. In early 2009, it was predicted that Democrats would likely expand majorities in the 2010 interim elections. As of now, everyone is predicting Republican pickups in both houses of congress and some even predicting a Republican takeover of at least one house (generally considered an outside chance still, but a possibility). Likewise, who would've thought that Ted Kennedy's former seat, representing a very blue Massachusetts, would have a special election that's proving to be extremely close? The point is, a lot can happen between now and November 2012. I think if Obama was up for reelection this year, he'd be in serious trouble. But that could easily change by 2012. Though I do agree that the next president is likely to be Republican (whether Obama gets a second term or not is to be determined). Generally voters get fatigued of the party currently in power after a period of time and oust them. Societies always have problems, and once you're in power for a while, those problems (no matter how many other problems you've solved) get pinned on you and you get booted. This trend is pretty well documented in all modern democratic systems, not just the US.

Here's the thing. Democrats don't know how to select proper candidates. If they did, we would always have demos in office. Republicans pick an old conservative fart, which works, because they aren't eccentric like the Al Gores, Kerrys, Hill-dawgs out there.
