[QUOTE="Mellosinferno"][QUOTE="savebattery"]Obama will lose if he runs again. He has promised big and delivered nothing.VaguelyTaggedThe Black people will vote for him still. what about a black republican?
Lynn Swann's loss in Pennsylvania and Michael Steele's in Maryland ought to prove the point that black people don't vote for other black people just because they're black.
I don't care what party the next president is in. I just hope he doesn't screw things up like bush and he actually does something unlike Obama. We need a president that will take action, but sensible action. SF_KiLLaMaN
Considering that Obama has kept 92 of his promises, has reached a compromise on 32 more, and has 266 of his promises in the works, I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "actually doing something".
Whoever will do the right thing for our country at that moment in time will (hopefully) be elected. The party doesn't matter, but for some reason people love to label themselves and throw out their own beliefs in favor of the party's. That's the obstacle we've had with every election and the main issue with the bipartisan system to begin with.
Yeah...umm...I pass. I'm going to have to agree -- I'd rather have four more years of Obama then having Hillary Clinton be President. (I agree with you :o)[QUOTE="TirOrn"]
I say HILLARY! Come on guys! Another Clinton! :D Seriously. Hillary.

Ironically a republican president is the reason why America is in such a bad state
Given recent historical precedent, I'd say there's a pretty good chance that it will be a Republican. And if not, then the one after that will almost certainly be a Republican.

I would agree with this, however, if the economy recovers under Obama's watch, we'll probably have a couple more Democratic presidents. Still, within a decade, I'm sure a Republican will be in office.
I have heard some liberals claim we will never see another republican ever. I find that laughable, unless Obama's approval goes up we could have another republican and if not 2012 we will get one in 2016. But they need to correct the lies being spread around about the party and conservatism from various place if the party wants to remain viable.Given recent historical precedent, I'd say there's a pretty good chance that it will be a Republican. And if not, then the one after that will almost certainly be a Republican.

Um.....No. Our economic problems go far beyond Bush. This is what I was talking about in regards to lies about the party.I want a president who will do the following:
1) cut taxes
2) shrink government
3) unlock America's domestic energy supplies
4) bring market-based medical reform
5) nominate judges who will interpret the Constitution as it was originally written
6) build the border fence
I'll get none of these things with a Democrat, I might get some with a Republican.
Given recent historical precedent, I'd say there's a pretty good chance that it will be a Republican. And if not, then the one after that will almost certainly be a Republican.

HomicidalCherry
Even if it does recover, a Democrat succeeding Obama would run against the grain. Just look at the history of presidents since 1960 who have been elected to a full term:
1. John F. Kennedy (D)
2. Lyndon B. Johnson (D)
3. Richard Nixon (R)
4. Jimmy Carter (D)
5. Ronald Reagan (R)
6. George H. W. Bush (R)
7. Bill Clinton (D)
8. George W. Bush (R)
9. Barack Obama (D)
By my count, that's two instances of the party staying in the White House and six instances of the party being kicked out. Even when the economy was good, Al Gore was unsuccessful in keeping the White House Democratic.

I would LOVE this. Someone who spends WITH caution. The dream.I'll take a conservative nutjob over a liberal nutjob any day of the week.
But I think a moderate republican running on fiscal responsibility and economic recovery will win.

It's funny that a marketing tagline for Aliens vs Predator also applies to the next presidential election.

I am sure some that know nothing of politics and that only go by racial loyalty will do what you claim. But to think that all are mindless drones and will only vote for him based on color and not performance is just wrong. You seriously need to give them more credit than this. Keep in mind, Obama would have lost the election without that support he received from caucasian people.

I hate to say but theres a lot of black people who don't like him (look up Joe Gully on youtube)and the idiot women called a radio station saying obama is going to give all the black people money will be sadly disapointed and will most likely not vote for him.
I'm starting to become disapointed with my own party, the republican party for a few reasons. Not matter what i will support the canidate who has my rights in intrest. Hopefully the meadia does not ignore Ron Paul should he run again.I hope to see the changes in therepublican party.
1.ditchthe religious wack jobs (i'm talking about the crazys like the born agains)and everything will fall into place. any real arguments against gay marrage gone and so forth.
As much as I like this idea myself. I don't believe it would be entirely effective to have a neutral or independent president between the two major parties in the United States.. the system itself all ready lacks sufficient authority or power to create an momentum for governmental reform on a reasonable scale. And I believe a third party president would only make these reality worst. What comes to my mind is this.. it comes from the Karate Kid movies and is a simple concept. Mr. Migahy(spelling) tells Daniel Son that if you walk down the middle of the road you'll get run over by the traffic. He says to Daniel Son that if he doesn't choose right or left side of the road.. he will be squashed. In other words.. you have to choose a side. And our government.. unfortunately works the same way. SO, it would only magnify the problems.. But, maybe I'm wrong. I don't particular like our government anyways.hopefully neither

Can we not have Bill instead?Sure, just get rid of term limits. Bush vs Clinton 2012.[QUOTE="Xx_Hopeless_xX"]

Agreed, although both republicans and democrats have their fair share of blame.
Depends who can appeal most to the independent voters out with their candidates (and his/her policy platform) come next election. Hopefully there'll not be another Bush effect.
To be honest, it wouldn't surprise me if it was Democrat victory though, the Republicans need to become more extroverted and more inclusive.
Still, it's too early to judge, a lot can happen in the space of time.

-no, maybe I'm wrong.
Here's the thing. Democrats don't know how to select proper candidates. If they did, we would always have demos in office. Republicans pick an old conservative fart, which works, because they aren't eccentric like the Al Gores, Kerrys, Hill-dawgs out there.
