Ok, I'm worried. I'm hearing things like the human race will die in like 200 years. Even though I'll probably be dead by then I would still want my Great Great Great Grand children to do ok in life. So I want to know what are your thoughts on this. Don't you think the human race has come too far to just die due to overpopulation, World Wars, global warming, or even a stupid asteroid crashing head-on into Earth? This is really SCARY:cry:

Not the entire race, but majority of the population, according to the graphs, possibly might. Right now, the population is still going up, but somewheere in 200 Years, the population line on the graph will go down rapidly for obvious reasons: lack of resources, pollution and etc. Unless of course, we change the direction of the wind and sail over to Mars in oxygen masks and throw ropes there and jump like pirates :P.

Species don't die out that quickly. We have only been here for maybe a minute compared to the Earth itself. When we do die out, it will be in a long time. Pessimistic thoughts like that aren't really thoughts, only pessimistic assumptions.

Actually, he's more concerned about the Ice Age. We could very well survive the Ice Age.

we will eventually unite and save our race. i think the biggest problem now is stereotyping (hating blacks for being black, hating jews for being jews, hating americans for being american, etc). that last one is pretty popular at the moment. i think things will get really bad but then the people of the world will wake up(everyone is so stupid and morally blind nowadays) and things will get better.........hopefully.

As human knowledge of science increases, so does out endangerment. Wthing the last 100 years, we have developed weapons capable of destroying the entire Human Race in the push of a few buttons. They say that a nuclear War is most likely to start by accident. And it is one of the most probable ways the human race will reach exstinction. I think thatit's almost become inevitable for the Human Race itself to commit suicide, through mass genocide

Kid A was all about humanity being destroyed and he seems to think that global warming will be the means to that annihilation. Judging by the interviews, he's only certain that we're going out, I don't know if he's certain global warming will be our ticket out.

[QUOTE="Here-John-E"]you shouldnt be, at first i know i was when i discovered this (i am positive we will all die out soon) first of all i have faith in an afterlife, and if everyone is dead, honestly what are you missing out of.

Look at it this way:

The Sun isn't a threat. It won't burn up its hydrogen supply for well over 5 billion years. Us killing ourselves is an impossibility. Nuclear war, while a threat, is a very slim chance, and therefore not that big a deal as of now. The Ice Age, even if we are starting to enter one, will not come for a long while. Objects such as asteroids and the like won't pose much a threat, seeing as how the chance of one killing us off isn't very big.

We may put ourselves in jeapordy, but mankind isn't intelligent, or powerful, enough to kill ourselves off. The only possibility is an alien race blowing Earth up, or zombies. And you know the chances of that.

lawl ignorance to the idea of humans uniting is impossible. but for what would keep us alive my money is also on our ancient alien friends helping us for any chance of survival. thats very unlikely seeing as how we dont know of their existance. but there is no chance we could survive on our own with no help.

Actually, it was partially about globalization, and certain other things, not only about Global Warming.

He's probably right, global warming being the means of our annihalation. Not directly global warming, but more like a mixture of things. All species die out eventually. That is imminent. I don't think we should be immediately afraid of what we can do to ourselves. We can sit comfy for now.

Wars and disease will be catastrophic, but far from threatening human life itself. We could destroy ourselves thousands of other ways, but humans have a will to survive, more so than most other animals. We could kill ourselves, but we'll just rise out of the ashes. People say the plague will come back, or nuclear war will kill us all, but subconciously, they know, with maybe the slightest doubt, that we can't kill ourselves completely.

The only way that could happen is if we had an atomic war or an astroid killed everything. Otherwise humans are gonna be around for a long time.

Has anyone seen that movie (the name escapes me atm) where there was a nuclear war between the US and China and the entire world was dead from radiation except for Australia and a US attack submarine which the captain handed over to the Australian Admiralty.  Pretty good movie except in the end the Aussies get it too.

The thing I really hate about this movie is that it could happen.

There's only two things in life that are guaranteed. Taxes and death. Don't worry about our extinction. It's coming sooner or later and it's a without a doubt deal. So don't worry about what you can't control.

If we don't curb pollution and fornication very soon, we're going to have a LOT of fighting later on in the next few centuries.  It'll be a post-apocalyptic society without the apocalypse actually happening.  I'm not worried too much about it, because we seem to be taking plenty of steps in the right direction (at least towards the pollution part).  What I am worried about, is supervolcanoes.  We have no way of knowing when it'll happen until the hours before it occurs.  And we're pretty much ****ed if that happens anyways.

we will never die, the human race will survive to some extent, be it only a colony left on a new planet when this one falls apart or something, or a few humans surviving an ice age or a meteorite, well live on its just a matter of in how well w do this etc
