What do people not like about Vista? I personally love itWolverineGSI'll admit It takes getting used to, I still have XP but all my friends got new laptops for graduation and Iv gotten to play with vista and after awhile I got use to it. It runs fine and its pretty sleek looking, I dont understand why they need to change OS this soon especially when 7 doesnt look like its that different from Vista...
Meh, better then vista, still not as good as Mac or Linux:P Darth-CaedusLinux, yeah your right... Macs... yeah right
Linux>>>>>MS>>>>>Macs...but thats just my opinion on the matter :P

Actaully Linux>Mac>>>>>>>>>>>>>>MS:P But your right, all an opinion:PIt is probably MS's best OS that they've put out.cell_dwellerwell what makes it so much better than vista? Iv yet to try it but from the screenshots posted on the MS site it looks identical to Vista
well what makes it so much better than vista? Iv yet to try it but from the screenshots posted on the MS site it looks identical to Vista sparkypantsIt's got the same look/feel to it, but runs MUCH better. Memory and CPU useage aren't tapped like Vista, features are a bit more useable, taskbar and start menu is completely re-worked.
its 2 years later, vista was released in 2006. I tried win 7, pretty amazing if you ask me, however I had to switch back because 3ds max 2009 wouldn't save scenes. I know its just the first beta so I give it 9/10.A year later and theres already a new operating system for windows, windows 7. does anyone know about this...apperentlly theres an open beta, has anyone tried it yet?

The main problem is that they're still having compatibility issues, and with my luck one of those issues happens to be the antivirus program I need to get on my college's network. :(

Vista will be 2 yrs old in 2 weeks. It came out on January 31st, 2007

Obviously there are bound to be compatibility issues. My wireless card is having problems at the moment, and I can't figure out what it is. I've tried Vista and XP drivers with no luck. But yes, the new taskbar is fantastic.

 You guys really should've tried out Mac's OSX awhile ago. Everything you guys are describing is Leopard. Ease of use, nice taskbar, ease of setup, etc. From the pics I've seen, they really copied some idea, such as showing small picture of the minimized windows in the corner, oh well:wink:-Sniper99-So true:lol:

I think you're being heavily biased on it, not really knowing what the Win 7 task bar actually does.

It just doesn't work as well for doing multiple things at once IMO. Also, OSX can't run Left 4 Dead. :P

Have you tried changing compatibility? (If it's available)? I haven't but I doubt it would work, because it even messed up with the software's licensing, my version turned from "indefinite commercial" to "unregisterd" after a while, on top of that the application could neither save nor load scenes, giving a corrupt file message, and thats after several reinstall. I am aware theres a fair amount of softwares incompatibilities, but its only the first beta so I guess no big deal. if all goes well I will DEFINITELY buy a copy when windows 7 is released.A year later and theres already a new operating system for windows, windows 7. does anyone know about this...apperentlly theres an open beta, has anyone tried it yet?

Right now the only thing I dislike about Windows 7 is my graphics card wont work with it because Nvidia hasnt put out laptop drivershtekemerald:lol: You know you can instal desktop drivers, right? It even works better most of the time.
What do people not like about Vista? I personally love itWolverineGSI love it too. It seems too soon for a new OS, but I suppose by the time the bugs get worked at... and they shoot that guy that does the Mac vs. PC commercials... it'll be about right.
