I wanna hear some stories about people getting thier wisdom teeth out. Its a pretty big deal that alot of us have to go through and we all end up with unique experiences with it.

For me, i was pretty nervous. I was mostly scared of the gas because i didnt know what sort of effect it would have on me or if it would work, and i was really cautious about breathing too much in. But soon my eyes started getting heavy, and suddenly it was just easier to leave them shut. And when i heard him digging at my mouth, i started inhaling the gas like crazy!
It didnt hurt, but the noises were just terrible :(

I haven't gotten mine pulled yet, but my orthodontist said I would need to get them pulled within a year and a half, because it will cause crowding. I'm not really scared, but I don't want my teeth to get messed up from crowding.

Me also, one of the dental assistants was cute and I was asking her some questions then BAAM...I'm out. I wake up, my mouth is stinky and bleeding, I can't open it, and I look like hell...I tried to give her my number but you know...I couldn't find her...

The reason they have you pull them is because after they grow out they immediately begin to rot. Rotting teeth are no fun.

Yah but thats not the point. You dont get them out because it hurts when they grow in :?

I woke up towards the end of the operation and had to do everything in my power to keep from laughing. I ended up laughing all the way home and then I went to sleep when I got home....

That was the closest I have ever been to being high......

That gas is way worse than being high, but i digress. I wish they would give you a little sample gas thing to take home instead of the pain pills!

I was awake when all four of mine were taken out. The gave me 12 hour novacane. This was equal to 20 something needles in my mouth. The ones into the roof of my mouth hurt like hell. Made a tear come out after a few shots to the pallet. I was awake when he drilled the bone to get the two bottom teeth out. He broke one of the top teeth but managed to pull it. I heard the sound of him yanking each tooth out of my skull.

Afterwards my face was still very numb so I didn't notice how bad I was bleeding. My mouth filled up with blood every few minutes but I didn't know until I went to talk and blood poured out my mouth. This last for a few hours with the gauze. This was a pain when I had to pick up my meds as I couldn't talk. People were very suprised that I drove myself home. I thought I wouldn't need the pills as it didn't hurt for awhile. Plus I got hungry at one point cause I hadn't eaten all day.

As the novacane wears off I felt pain like I never felt before. I had to imeadiately take the pills. It hurt for days. I also managed to burn my tongue when I made myself something to eat earlier. I thought the food had cooled down but the inner parts were still way to hot I guess. The pain meds made me high and halucinate. I had conversations with people I didn't remember

WOW, thats a hell of a rough time kakarott! Why in the world would you chose Novacane over the gas? But even the gas doesnt knock you out, it just makes you complacent and not feel anything, youre still awake. And you are supposed to have someone there to drive you, you shouldnt be driving after surgery!

I got one of mine pulled yesterday. I used Novocain and was awake the whole 4 mins it took to do it. I don't know what the big deal is. I did not feel it when they did it, and the pain after is minor. I have not even filled out the prescription for the pills they gave me.

Well you can't pull two and leave the other 2 in...

As for mine...it was fine, no pain, no swelling, i went out that night and was eating normal foods 2 or 3 days later.

He stretch a nerve so even after the novocain wore off, one side of my face was still numb. It took weeks for the feeling to come back all the way, during which I talked funny and drooled a little.

Mine's pretty boring. I had teeth pulled in my teens to accomodate braces. When my wisdom teeth began to develop, I had room for them. They're in. I have them. No problems. The End. :)

It was one of the best experiences I have ever had.

I went in on a Monday, and they had me sucking on the Nitrous Oxide for 20 minutes. I was high as a kite and numb all over. I asked to be put under because I didnt want to be awake for the whole thing. So they put the IV in me, and the next thing I know I was awakemouth as dry as the Sahara Desert. My mouth was numb for most of the day and it did bleed, but most of the time I was out. I probably put in 20 hours worth of sleep in one day. The drugs that they give you will get you high as well, and keep you that way for 10 hours. For 4 days I was constantly high and I never felt any pain either.

The only down side is that you cant drink any soda, suck through a straw, or eat solid foods until the doc says you can.

I am not joking when I saywas a great experience.

When the needle was forced into my hand (multiple times, the dink couldn't find a vein right away) I started to get really worried, sick, then I was unconscious. I hated the whole expierence and the lousy pain killers I was given... Glad I got it over with some time ago.

I still have mine. I remember the last dentist appointment I had and I remember hearing something about getting them removed when I came back for Christmas/Holiday break. My mom denies it, that an appointment was never scheduled.

I was scared to death of being "conciously sedated" which basically meant they made me high. I had never been sedated before and it really wasn't bad at all. Except for the wall and pictures moving up and down, that was weird. I pointed it out to the nurse and she said, "we paid a lot of money to make them do that."

As for the surgery, my teeth weren't impacted so they just got cut out, no drilling. The stitches hurt more than the actual surgery.

EDIT: They didn't use a gas on me, instead it was an IV drip.
