woah, girl trouble

About a month ago my best friend and I got into a bit of a fight (not a fist fight, but rather an argument). We kind of said some things we didn't mean and went our separate ways.

|I apologized after the incident (not immediately after, but I think I waited like a day or two, because she was still very upset), for I realized how much I screwed up almost immediately after the argument, but she said she hated me.

She then removed me as a friend on Facebook, wouldn't return my phone calls, removed me as a friend on Xbox Live, removed me as a friend on MySpace, blocked me on Facebook, and got two of our mutual friends to think less of me (which is understandable, since they were there and I was totally out of line).

Just today, a month (give or take a few days) later, she just sent me a friend request on Xbox Live. I just received (and accepted) the friend request about 15 minutes ago, in the middle of playing Resident Evil 5. I don't think she added any text or voice with the request, if so, i didn't see it, because I forgot that you could add those with friend requests (and because my partner needed my help in Resident Evil 5, since we were [spoiler] fighting against Wesker and Jill together [/spoiler] ).

She has yet to send me a message (assuming she didn't in the friend request), nor have I contact her. We were arguing over whether or not gay marriage should be legal, she said it should (she has a gay uncle or something, but I didn't know her uncle was gay at the time), and I said it shouldn't be legal. I never really met a gay person (other than that one kid in 2nd hour, but I never talked to him before, primarily because he scares me, because he is gay and he acts [and talks] all gay).

She said I was too closed minded, I even went so far as to saying that gays aren't people, they are things, but then she told me about her uncle, and that's when things got really bad. I was like "fine, I'll be the mature one" and left. That was the end (apart from my apology later on). So, do you think this is a good sign or not (she could have just added me to harass me or something)?

They're messed up in my opinion. That would be like egging on Iraq to attack us.

I wouldn't want to remain friends with someone who considered my gay relatives "things". THAT's disrespectful.

If this issue is that big of a deal to TC and/or his friend, where neither is comfortable being friends with someone who feels strongly opposite to how they do, let it go. Accept the request or whatever but no need to push it.

She might have Had problems with you calling her Uncle a "Thing". If she was really your friend she would respect your position on the subject.

I'd send her an Invite to a game or something, gaming together always helps ( Make Sure it's not a Competitive game though, Lol. :P ).

But not when it comes to comments that were so prejudiced and wrong. And no matter what your stance on the matter, gay people are in fact human beings, so TC was indeed wrong.

This could be a possibility, sure. Perhaps a slip of the tongue in the heat of the moment. But TC didn't once say he doesn't feel that way, nor did he apologize, which is something people often do after making a mistake.

I never said calling her uncle a "Thing" was Okay. Refer to Bolded. I was referencing to the argument over such a subject.

Hate to make a joke during serious times, but could you imagine? It's like we are playing Halo 3 and I kill her and say through the microphone "Oh, what now **** You want some more?" and just brag after every kill. lol, that certainly wouldn't help the situation.

It was mainly out of the heat of the moment, not actually my beliefs.

Oh my god... I have no idea what you're hoping to get by posting this here, since what you said is absolutely terrible. Apologies are meaningless, what you need to tell her is that either you were not in your right mind when you said that, you just weren't thinking correctly, or that you changed since then. Time cures a lot of stuff.

You see, that's the main reason I hate gay people. Because I, just like everyone else, used to call other people gay (mostly joking, but sometimes if I didn't like the person). Now we have to keep doing that, because if we don't keep making fun of them, one day humans might look back and see that we handled the queer problem wrong, and I don't want to be called a "bad person" in the future (just like people call the former slave-owners now). So, we must never let human beings think of gays as equals, if we do, we will be considered the bad guys, we have to fight to protect ourselves from the future.
