Hey dude, she's using prostitution to pay for her entire master's degree. I highly qualify that as a profession.
She's not getting $10 from her neighbor, she's getting tens of thousands.
Considering that will provide her with money for years to come, that's her profession.DeeJayInphinity

Huh? What qualifies a profession as a profession is not how much money you make..

Are you telling me that if you win one of those tv contests (you know, when you gain LOTS of money), that makes it your profession?

You're gaining lots of money, but that doesn't make you a professional "tv contestant".

I keep getting more and more wtf.

Look up these words in a dictionary--it's the simple act that makes it a profession. It is not a long-term profession, but it is employment which would qualify it as a profession.
My other argument was just to emphasize that she's getting a ton of money from it, making it her livelihood.

What about teachers? They don't work year round, yet they have a profession. And those Alaskan King Crab hunters. That's like just 2 months of work or something, right?

I have already said this before, and whatever, I'll say it again.

I don't really care much about dictionaries for one reason: misinterpretation.

Professions do require a long-term working. If you work on a website for someone only once, that doesn't make you a professional web designer, although you were a web designer while developing the website.

Doing something once doesn't make it your profession. It makes you capable of doing it. Two different things.

You should use dictionaries when there is an argument about semantics.. right now for example.. or do you want to fight over the meaning of semantics as well?
English dictionaries clearly define profession as a service you get paid for. We are using english. We are discussing professions. She got paid for her service. It is her livelihood. She is a professional prostitute. The End.

Traffic wardens in this country are proven to be counterproductive. Prison guards are worse than the inmates a lot of the time.

Funny thing about time. You just said that if I get paid to make a website for someone, I would not be a professional web designer.
Interesting, since it can take more than a month to develop one single website. In fact, it can take several months to a year depending on the size.
Yet I would not be a professional web designer, whereas someone who works for 2 months would be a professional crab hunter. :?
Seems like you contradicted yourself or you don't even know what you're arguing.

Look, let's face it; she is a common whore.

leejohnson7

I'd say she's anything but common.

The amount of money and circumstance makes no difference. Sex for financial gain makes her a prostitute.

I didn't argue the prostitute part, I argued the common part ;)

Funny thing about time. You just said that if I get paid to make a website for someone, I would not be a professional web designer.
Interesting, since it can take more than a month to develop one single website. In fact, it can take several months to a year depending on the size.
Yet I would not be a professional web designer, whereas someone who works for 2 months would be a professional crab hunter. :?
Seems like you contradicted yourself or you don't even know what you're arguing.DeeJayInphinity

Depends on the line of work. Hooking isn't viewed with enthusiasm as a Career. At least it wasn't in the college prospectus last time I checked.

It's like saying you deal drugs for money, doesn't matter whether it's legal, it's a profession. Which it isn't; it would just mean that another person is scum pusher.

I'm sorry lol?

You don't hunt 1 crab in 2 months.

Also, I mentioned length of time, because Jandurin mentioned it.

A website is a one time thing. You don't get a salary, and you can't live out of the money from making a website. Unless you make it periodically, then that would be your profession.

(By the way, it takes around 6 months to make a HUGE website, I can't see it taking 1 year (this is just added info))

LMFAO!

If she's so smart and wants to go to grad school, doesnt she know there are other legal and dignified ways of earning money?

And that blonde with the sunglasses totally condones it. This is what America comes down to? Sad.

she wants to be a family and marriage therapist too  hope she doesnt' get any clients.Ontain

Lol. When I heard that, I was like.. good luck on getting that job. Her future employer will smell her from a mile away. Oh, you're the girl that auctioned her virginity!

Guy:"ew.. you're nothing but a common whore"

Hooker: "common? How dare you".

I am using the fact that it isn't to argue that it is frowned upon.

I used to be a freelancing web designer (from age 12 to 15). Don't worry, I know my stuff ^^

Eccentric, mentally unstable people who use that point to reassure themselves?
