ok driving high does not have the same effect as driving drunk. The problem was mixing the two alcohol and weed which was the problem. I'm not saying it's ok to drive high but the effects of being drunk is far worseandyboiiiEh....I think neither should be done. The fact that both create a risk for accident...and oftentimes someone else suffers...is enough to say they are comparable in the possibility.
Driving under the influence of alchol is bad, driving under the inlfuence of marijuana is bad. It's less dangerous to drive high than it is to drive drunk, but it's still not good. Weed should be legalized or at least decriminalized.
It's also illegal to be under the influence of drugs and drive....;) I assume the topic creator knew that, or they wouldn't have been trying to blame Marijuana. I felt I had to point out no matter the influence (alcohol, marijuana) the driver would have been in the wrong and blaming it on solely the marijuana (or putting an emphasis on it) is useless.[QUOTE="theharlemshake"] It is illegal to drink and drive, so what exactly is your point?LJS9502_basic
Every time I've defended cannabis I've mentioned that there is no traffic incident I have ever heard of where someone killed another person under the influence of JUST cannabis, and this story is no different. It proves absolutely nothing, since we know that alcohol alone can cause the type of behavior this person exhibited. Until you actually do tests thtat are conducted objectively on a closed course with weed and do them in a scientific manner you're not going to have anything conclusive on how being under the influence of cannabis affects your driving. Besides, how ridiculous is your logic here, someone was drunk and high and you say that cannabis should be outlawed but not alcohol?
if weed was legal it would have restrictions, just like alchohol does. but that obviously wouldnt have stopped her, seeing that she was also drunk
This ho obviously didn't have enough marijuana in her, if she was baked enough, she wouldn't have been able to move, much less drive a car.
So it turns out that the incident that occurred last week where a woman drove the wrong way of the road going at high speeds was not only drunk but had high levels of marijuana in her system. But this leads me to this question. Do weed supports still agree to make weed legal for all to consume? Well of course, the aclohol also had something to do with it, but in every thread debating marijuana, the defence was that it does not alter the mind in anyway and is infact harmful. After hearing this news that a woman was driving the wrong way with high levels of weed in her system, do you still support legalizing marijuana?

Wish these pro-marijuana legalization people would stop saying that there's never been a death attributed to smoking it---there's not only this case, but there are others. Yes, alcohol was a factor, but please don't tell me that the pot wasn't big factor as well.... Alcohol has been proven to negatively affect your driving, cannabis has not. All this story proves is flawed logic. She was driving recklessly and she had cannabis in her system, therefore it must have been the cannabis that caused the accident, right? So I suppose if someone gets drunk of rum and cokes and kills someone driving then the caffeine in their system also caused the accident, correct? Besides, no one's encouraging the use of cannabis, we simply say that alcohol, a drug which is widely used and socially accepted, causes thousands of driving accidents a year while cannabis, a drug which has not ever been proven to be the MAJOR CAUSE of a driving accident, is seen in such a negative light by contrast.
Yes... one accident doesn't mean anything.. i have yet to see a report were someone was just high and died.... not one... why? Because when your stoned your paranoid and it makes you drive better....So it turns out that the incident that occurred last week where a woman drove the wrong way of the road going at high speeds was not only drunk but had high levels of marijuana in her system. Yes, I still support the legalization of it. People do stupid things, and most likely, not that I'm trying to excuse weed, but it was probably consumed after her intoxication with the alcohol which would further impair her judgement. It didn't 'alter' her mind, she just shouldnt've been behind the wheel if someone were to have noticed how impaired she was. About a year ago a friend of mine told me that another friend of his whom I don't know recently got sent to jail for 10 years for involuntary manslaughter/homicide. He said his friend who never drinks, smokes, snorts, injects etc., all of a sudden decided to have a few cold ones with his crew for the sake catching a buzz at some bachelor party. On his way home, he jumped on the OFF=RAMP of the expressway and since all the lights were facing him from the incoming traffic, he had a seizure and smashed some people. When he came back to conciouness at the hospital, he was made aware that he had crashed into a certain amount of cars killing 6. Should we put alcohol back on the prohibition list?So it turns out that the incident that occurred last week where a woman drove the wrong way of the road going at high speeds was not only drunk but had high levels of marijuana in her system. Marijuana dulls the senses as far as I know so anyone claiming it does nothing to alter the mind is BSing =P, but anyways, She shouldnt have been driving under the influence of anything, whether it be Alcohol or Marijuana, PERIOD.
This doesnt hurt the legalize marijuana cause at all if you ask me because if they did legalize it, it would probably have many of the samelaws connected to it as Alcohol does.
[QUOTE="BumFluff122"]Because they are 'against legalizing marijuana' and want to make it seem like the presence of marijuana could possibly have an effect over the fact that she was wasted =PSounds a bit biased to me. Though I could be wrong. I mean it's obvious weed has a much greater effect on driving skills than alchohol.if she was drunk why are you only blaming the weed?

Seriously though, alchohol is far worse than weed. Perhaps we should make alchohol illegal and make weed legal. I am pretty sure there would be a lot less violence in the world.
First of all, if marijuana was legalized the only real difference is that the people who normally smoke would be doing it public instead of a more private location.
On the topic of the crash, most people are going to blame it on the alcohol.
Yes, because alcohol's intoxicating effects are known to be much worse than weed.First of all, if marijuana was legalized the only real difference is that the people who normally smoke would be doing it public instead of a more private location.

Drugs affect everybody differently. There's no set-in-stone reaction to smoking. Some people might be better drivers, others might not be.If you were high and driving your driving would be worse and youd probably crash.
