I don't even see how pro-choice people could agree with this. :?

What.
Irene Vilar said she had the abortions not from poverty or fear but as an extraordinary act of rebellion against her 'controlling' husband who did not want children.
The attractive one-time academic prodigy attended a boarding school in New Hampshire and was accepted into a New York university when she was only 15.
A year later, she fell in love and married a 50-year-old Latin American literature professor, who she says was opposed to having children.
She claimed she had the abortions so her husband wouldn't leave her although she failed to reveal whether he knew of the terminations.
That woman is messed up.
Is it wrong if I laugh at that? No :) I laughed. No idea how u get that many, but if u believe life doesnt start until your born then one abortion is the same as 1 million.[QUOTE="xaos"]Achievement unlocked?11Marcel
If she wanted to rebel against a husband who didn't want kids and kept putting them inside her, wouldn't having the kids have been much more rebellious? :\What.

I know, she's full of contradictions.
She should have had kids and left the guy (seriously, she stayed with him for 17 years?). Not to mention the baffling decision of marrying a 50 year old dude when she was 16 in the first place, messed up childhood or not.
In a way it's not the abortions that makes me sad, it's how seriously messed up she is.
edit - well, and her desire to profit financially (via the book) from everything.
Yes because one and only one case can prove a whole "system" wrong.http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1220095/American-abortion-addict-15-terminations-17-years-publishes-memoir.html

Do the attrocities done in the name of religion work as arguments against religion in general and could they advocate that we should be against it? Of course not, and they should not. That is absurd to conclude.
Anyway not the best analogy because religion and abortion are not the same things by far but still I dont think that an individual case matters. The cons of abortion are already known and thats why both pro-life and pro-choice people do not like abortion; the first dont want it to be an option at all and the second recognise the inevitability in some cases. Surely this case shows how there should be criteria as to when a woman should get an abortion but not that it somehow changes the data we already have about abortion.
Is it wrong if I laugh at that?[QUOTE="xaos"]Achievement unlocked?11Marcel
Just to be clear, the 15 abortions thing is horrible IMO. Abortion should be a last resort. Not something you do every other year.
Every other year, max.Abortion can't just bee seen as an altertentive form of birth control or condoms, I have my own opinions but I this is just really screwed up, personally I don't know what's worse having a partial birth abortion, or having this many.
A 2some? Isn't that just regular sex? :lol:I know girls that have had a 2some had 3 abortions. But 15 wow

I am pro choice and all, but that lady needs to be fixed if she is so intent on unprotected sex AND not wanting children.

Meh... what's the difference between one abortion and 15? Especially if they are done early.Engrish_MajorThey better be done early because late term abortions are plain disgusting and wrong.
What a stupid lady. Does she know what a contraceptive is?
effena
Of course she does. These weren't accidental pregnancies.
What's the difference between one abortion and fifteen abortions? (If you're pro-choice)
QiiXii
One is generally rationalized as an unfortunate necessity - a lesser of two evils, so to speak.
Fifteen is just ****'d up.
It was a form of protest against her husband. It had nothing to do with her not wanting children. What a stupid lady. Does she know what a contraceptive is?

Pro-choice people do not all hold the exact same beliefs. What's the difference between one abortion and fifteen abortions? (If you're pro-choice)
