The thing is, the further a person lets their obesity get, the harder it is for them to get into a more decent shape. If a person gets to the point where he is so fat that he can barely move, he can't exercise to burn calories, so any weight loss would plan would have to be just a diet, but weight loss is most successful when it combines dieting and exercise.

Poor guy, must have sucked being bed ridden for so long. Looks like he was trying to loose weight. Anyway I hope he finds peace.
