I wasn't bashing you, just wanted to know your reasons. As I mentioned, I think mercedes is crap for just those reasons. But then BMW, tends to be better made and more reliable.

The idrive thing was a disaster. It was horrible and poorly implemented. But the 3 series BMWs are what carries the company IMO. They have better reliability than mercedes in general.

Mercedes were well made/priced until they merged with Chrysler but now they have gone down a lot in quality and are overpriced
Are you crazy? GM's the best. With their new warranty, you never have to worry about paying for repairs. I'd say Ford, Mercedes, and Volkswagon are the worst...

I don't know. They were always a little shoddy in the quality department. And they bought out Chrysler, but weren't able to make that profitable.

I hate HYUNDAI.. and there slogan is "smart buy?" my parents had 2 when i was younger, they both died.. they were newer model vehicles,but they died all of a sudden.. no one EVER by Hyundai

My mom has an '06 passat and it is a very nice car. 1.8 turbo has plenty of high end power... not so much on the low end though. And a stock speedometer that goes up to 160 mp/h :P.
The rest of my family has fords. My mom also has a 68' mustang... great car, nobody can agrue with that. My dad has an '01 F-350 tubo desial with 90,000 on it and we've never have had any problems. Most major U.S. car makes are reliable such as Ford and GM. Most expensive and cheap makes are the ones that are going to be the problems. Like Hyundia (spelling).
Most European cars are cheap for how much u get, but the maintenance is absolutley crazy, especially BMWs, they have SO many electrical prob. its not even funny, i have owned 2 BMWs and they both had prob. with electronics

Well, I think in the rest of the world it's called VolkswagEn, at least in Brazil and in Europe...
Most European cars suffer from not so great electrical harnesess. They are prone to getting very brittle. Jaguar was the worst in this area untill Ford bought them out, but they still lag behind. IMO BMW, Mercedes, make excellent motors, and other top notch stuff. But you really cant name worst car company, because many companies are owned by other larger companies, so in a sense your calling that company bad too. IMO Fords new Diesel, the 6.4 liter is terrible. They need to go back to the 7.3, which was a very good motor, except Cummins still is better. The Chevy Duramax is an excellent motor as well.
