Hitler Stalin did kill more people, but he didn't come close to annihilating a whole group of people from Europe.GettingTiredAnd the fact the Hitler focused on one group makes him worse, even though Stalin killed more?

Well, it depends. If you're going by nothing other than numbers, then Stalin was worse. But I think genocide ranks pretty high in the "Crimes against humanity" part.
why is my poll not up there i'm talking of current ones. the choices are : Ahmadinejad and Ayatollah Ali Khamenei (iran), Bashar Assad (syria), Fidel and Raul castro (cuba), Hugo Chavez (venezuela) and Kim jong il (north korea).whipassmt
If those are the choices, I don't know how al-Bashir can't be up there.

I think it's far more sinister to want a specific group of people gone. And anyway, nothing Stalin did matched the inhuman depravity that the Nazi scientists inflicted on people.

He's not just talking about Hitler or Stalin individually... He's talking about Hitler-Stalin. Now that's badass.

You never know with people on the internet. There are times that I've honestly thought people to be joking and they turned out to be serious. Take xmnnn or whatever the hell his user name is in the thread about whether people want to join the military or not. On one hand, logic tells me he HAS to be kidding. On the other hand...I'm not so sure...In addition...his username also tells me something. Maybe it's just me, but Makaveli sounds quite a bit like Machiavelli. Have you ever read The Prince, Mr. RosetaStoned?
Anyone who thinks Bush is in league with Stalin, Mao Zedong and Hitler is either mentally deranged or theyve sustained too many blows to the head.Taegukki
They are being sarcastic, of course. Bush is one of the greatest presidents, if not the best president, in the world.
Btw, are you Korean? Taegukki is the name of the South Korean flag. And that one war movie.

Well...I don't know how long you've been around OT...but some posters do believe that.

40 million people died under his leadershipthat was mostly because of the famine that resulted from new agricultural techniques that mao implemented because he thought they would help the country but ended up failing miserably. it's not like he purposely killed a bunch of people.

mao tse tung wasn't fighting terrorists:PStalin killed 24 million. Think about it.therazn
He's right. The only reason people know more about Hitler is because A) he was the enemy in WWII, unlike Stalin. and B) because Hitler killed a specific group of people, also unlike Stalin/Man of Steel.
I think Stalin was worse that Hitler.
Hitler was using nazism to gain power by directing his country's problems at jews, and and he basically wanted to make germany powerful because he was pissed about how his country lostWW1, so he started WW2. Apparently hitler was a nice guy before he became chancellor of germany, and slowly turned evil until he died. (im not trying to make it sound like i support him or anything, i learned all this on the history channel).
Stalin, on the other hand, was just plain crazy. From his evil reign, I formulated this equation:
Evilguy + paranoia + dictatorship +huge country with tons of people = mass starvation/even more paranoia.
