I would probably have to say the ending for KOTOR II was the worst. It doesn't matter at all what you do you get the same ending how lame especially considering the first game had so many endings
The ending to I Am Legend was pretty poor. Then again so was the whole movie, generally... >_>
I almost laughed out loud when they literally pointed out "come inside this protective barrier, there's plenty of room and no reason why you shouldn't just get in!"
Will Smith... "No... i have to stay".
"What?" :P
Iron Man's ending was god awful.dominer
what made it bad?plus if you stayed after the credits you'll be treated by awesomeness 8) .
Im talking more about like the last 5 minutes, the last fight was kinda cool.
And yes I stayed after the credits, but im not an Iron Man fanboy, so I didn't really care.
ive gotta agree with ass creed. instead of giving any sort of closure to the game, it just said "buy assassin's creed 2!" as loud as possible. maybe i wouldve bought the sequel if they focused on making the first one good. LoG-Sacrament
took the words right outta my mouth :)
I'm not sure about the worst ending, but one of the best endings ever is to Stephen King's "The Mist". It's awesome.Jaks_Secret
So True but
I think cloverfield had a bad ending

It wasnt that bad, but it was the typical ending for those type of movies :( I kinda didnt like the ending of No Country For Old Men. I know there are people who live by that movie, but regardless of what a great masterpiece it was and how it elevated movies to a new height, it was let down imo. Sure it had great symbolism and great directing and acting, but if a movie is boring...its boring. Watching that movie reminds me of the people who think Picasso's artwork sux but they buy it anyway because of its importance in art history... :?

No Country didn't have an ending. At all. It didn't have great symbolism, that came from over-analyising the movie and having the writers simply agree with the theories critics pulled. Phail.
No Country for Old Men takes the cake. Oh wait, it didn't have an ending. I love writers who totally disregard that silly word "closure" and seem to accept the "Lady or the Tiger" ending like it's 1940.RiSkyBiZ-13
I got that movie last thursday, didnt like it, the only times when it was good was when Javier Badem was on screen.
I also hate no closure endings
"we're so cool we're gonna give a big **** you to the viewer and not give them an ending!"
for games I say Assassin's creed, not only was the game bad but it suffered from the "heres some stuff, now heres credits" syndrome.dominer
AC's ending freaking owned. At least I thought so. It's probably one reason the game got such mixed reviews. Sure it's confusing and leaves a HUGE cliffhanger, but it worked well and you absolutely know there's going to be a sequel.
As for the worst ending, the only thing that comes to mind in recent history is I Am Legend. The first 2/3 of that movie were ok but the last third was terrible.

hey i agree with you. I thought it was a complete and utter snoozefest. I feel that people who go on about all the symbolism and wat not are seriously reaching. It was a bad movie, nothing more, nothing less.

it had the same ending as the book, and what else was there to tie up in the end?
The tv show "Angel" didn't really have an ending. It was left off with an extreme cliffhanger and they stopped production.
Until they release KOTOR III...I am infuriated with both the first and second endings...they just kind of left you there...makes no sense.

AC failed at the whole "Cliffhanger" ending. Alot of people fail to realize that a cliffhanger ending doesnt mean you can just pull a Halo2 and literaly just end the game mid cutscene. Cliffhanger endings are still ENDINGS. Look at god of war 2. Now thats a cliffhanger ending. It ties up the main problem brought up in the game yet and resolves the amjor issues then opens up a line of questioning that leaves the gamer wanting more. Look at MGS games. Each game has its villians that play an integral part to the main story. They are fought, and defeated thus ending their saga. Once the conclusion has been given, the overarching story of MGS is then referenced to in the last moments through a quick codec that leaves the gamer wondering "what's next!?" like in MGS2 when:
after the credits when Hal Emmerich (Otakon) says "Snake I found some more info on the Patriots...it appears all 12 members died 100 years ago."
now, thats a cliff hanger!

how was it good?the game's story took a huge dump on itself in the final act, then you learn some new stuff and the game ends.

The movie has plenty of closure, did you not get the ending or something cause i saw nothing wrong with it.

How was it pointless? Was it too sad and ironic for you? not all movies can end in a happy way, or was it something else?

These days I prefer it when the story doesn't end in a happy note.

there was nothing to tie up, but they still could've ended it better.

I just found it stupid that all those characters died right before the military showed up. The movie dragged on for me and I was hoping for the ending to be epic.

Its tragic and ironic, not a typical hollywood ending, i wouldnt want to see an epic ending, that would ruin the films mood and atmosphere.

That's what happens when shows are cancelled. Thing is though, they were sure it's not getting back on-air...so they has an interview and answered a few questions that were in dire need of explanation. Who John Doe is...for example.
Mass Effect and MGS3 are good examples of GOOD cliffhangers.but, maybe because these games are so EPIC it doesnt matter if they have cliffhangers or not.dominer
How exactly did ME leave off with a cliffhanger? I don't think that was a very good example of one...they killed the "boss" guy, killed the guy who was controlling the "boss" character, and had almost all their question answered...the ones that were important. The fact that the other..."bad guys" might come back from dead space doesn't really count.
*I tried to reveal as little as possible.

We still havent learned everything about the protheans
We still dont know about where the reapers came from or what their motives are
We dont know how the other races will take a human being on the council(And yes, theres a good chance the good ending will be used as a basis for the next game)
If thats not good, explain or show an example of a good cliffhanger.
