What are the most annoying movie cliches for you guys? The ones that specifically grind my gears are when computers make stupid sounds when someone scrolls through files or something. What computers actually do that? Another computer related cliche is when someone is hacking a computer and it looks like they're playing a ****in' videogame. You mostly see this type of stuff in late 80's or early 90's thrillers or sci-fi movies. It's not as common in movies today.

The unpopular geek girl just putting down her hair and taking of her glasses and that suddenly makes her look beautiful, and she just happened to never know that would happen for the past 16 years or whatever.

Cars that explode whenever they get hit by something.

Guns that have no recoil but emit a freaking laser lightshow out the end of them.

Yes, almost every action movie I've seen in which the kiss was at the very last scene. Was total crap. A good action movie normally puts the epic kiss as the third too last scene or so. :P

Yeah, I hate the computer stuff. That just drives me nuts. The worst offender that I can think of in that regard is Swordfish.

Anyway, I was going to say that I'm tired of the old "bad guy is dead, but you know he isn't really dead yet because that's the way it always is," thing in action movies. They do that so much and I've become so conditioned to expect it that it's actually only surprising when they DON'T do it.

I'm also sick of glass in movies. Everytime a character gets thrown (or jumps) through a window and lands on a floor covered with broken glass I think "Yeah, he would be cut up pretty badly." The dude gets up with not a scratch on him. I'm not a realism whore, but they should atleast try to be reasonable. :x

Comedy movies that have a dramatic or sentimental ending.

Not really a cliché so much as a trend but it annoys the crap out of me.

The worst movie cliche, I think, is any movie where the main character is a cop and his boss says to him "You're suspended" or "You're off the case." I can't tell you how many movies I've seen where this **** happens.

like Clamp said, Jurassic Park

Or in Swordfish, the guy was like "hack into the bank" and he started playing with a really fancy rubix cube on the computer to hack

Or what about the movie Hackers lol.

Oh, this is very meta:

Pretty much every movie about organized crime is fawned over by critics and usually wins several awards or comes very close to winning awards.

I don't remember the movie (Jurassic Park 2 I want to guess..), but they're playing Final Fantasy 8...TWO-PLAYER. It was hilarious watching the turn-based game go by and they're mashing on the controllers....

I hate that, though.

"If I could just...reach..my, sword!" it's in almost every hollywood film ever made in some form or anouther.

King Kong (the camera)

Beuwulf (the dragon heart)

I could list loads and loads more. Raiden did a beauty in Metal Gear Solid 4 where he literately could...not...quite...reach, his, sword!

I agree. I feel like saying, " You're a kid. You don't know ****!"

I also hate how in a movie, when two lovers start making out and make their way to the bed, they don't worry about protection or anything.

The kiss during the end of Goldeneye 64 lasted about 5 minutes.

I know it's not a movie but the entire time they're just standing there making out.

Two I can stand to never see again:

Prolonged scary, tense moments in a dark room, then a cat jumps out. "Oh, it's just you, Mittens."

Also cars never start the first time. Really, how often does this happen anymore? It's 2008. Cars start. Period.

lol That's probably the one that gets to me the most, until I think of something else that is. The most recent instances I can think of are the Bourne movies. When Bourne scrolls thru pics/files, information gets put on big monitor, when the 'assets' get their incoming msgs, the devices make some digitial sounds/clicks that you never hear

Romance (aka the general concepts of "he gets the girl" or "she gets the guy") is overdone and boring. That is why I liked it when Pepper didn't kiss Tony in Iron Man.

Why monsters roar just to be scary when, in the time it takes for the monster to roar the could have killed/eaten the main character who inevitably escapes.

In example; I Am Legend The zombie roars continuously for no apparant reason. Zombies don't roar!

I'm not disagreeing with you guys but can you give me an example?

Ever seen Jurrasic Park? The scene where that girl is hacking a computer. If you seen that you probably know what I mean.

Was she hacking it? Or was she just looking through files? She was in like...the...Main computer room or whatever, after all

Too my rememberance, she was hacking it. Whatever she was doing it looked stupid and no computer would actually do that.

Hmm...

Sexy females in general. If there were only as many sexy females in real life as there are in movies.

Buffed up men in general. Fortunately, there are not as many buffed up men in real life as there are in movies.

Completely illogical train of events. For example, a twist happening in a story by mere chance and yet it continues to happen throughout the movie over and over again. This is most often occuring when characters reunite for the strangest of all reasons.

Introducing a child. Are we supposed to feel some sort of emotion for this child? I hope that the next movie I see shows the kid getting killed and having the villain show no remorse for it whatsoever and no one else caring. I'm so tired of these children for emotion appeal.

I agree with the computer hacking cliche.
