We all know the feeling, your favourite movie/television show is being remade and renewed. You're happy as a clam until you watch the thing.

Worst remakes I know of:

Life on Mars - Sam Tyler will always be John Simm, and not the American who thinks he's as good an actor as Mr. Simm. Boo, America!

The Office - Ricky Gervais deserves respect, but The Office with professional unfunny man Steve Carrell is an abomination x.x

The Wickerman - One single sentence to describe this will be enough; How'd it get burned!

Now, list yours!

Psycho. I haven't actually seen the remake but I hear it's essentially, shot-by-shot, the same movie Hitchcock put together. Not that a remake of such a brilliant movie is ever necessary, though.

That is what I came in here to post... It could be a great a movie, but the original is such a part of my youth (I will still watch that movie) that the remake is doomed to fail in my book

I had a hard time looking at Remake Norman Bates, I'm just accustomed to Vince Vaughn being funny, not 'scary'.

Yeah I agree it could be citizen kane worthy and I still would be upset by it. It is just such a part of history they are tearing into.

Goes to show how good of an actor Nicolas Cage is. He is always completely focused on the role and never out of character, as terrible as it might be. Even in the most terrible of roles, he always gives it 120%.

When he does pick a right role with a right director (like last year with Bat Lieutenant by Werner Herzog), it is pure brilliance.

Planet of the Apes was quite meh, but I'm already refusing to see the new Karate Kid. Jackie Chan is teaching the kid kung fu from China, not karate from Okinawa. I like the US' Office, but even though I think Steve Carell is funny in a lot of things that he does, some of the things Michael Scott does just makes me cringe like one of his employees. I tend to laugh more at Jim, Dwight, Andy, and sometimes Stanley... unless if it's just a bizzare situation that Michael's managed to find himself in. Apparently they're also doing an English language remake of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and Daniel Craig is going to be playing Blomkvist...

Indeed, and it will be directed by David Fincher. I have not seen the original and I am not aware if the remake will do the whole trilogy... The probably will.

I don't think it matters what version you watch as they were relased about a year apart, but i found the American one to be alot gorier and the characters more likeable.

I recommend you watch it, it's a cross between Dawn of the Dead (zombies) and Cloverfield (in terms of filming).
