i get that to. It's scary and a rush, like fallin down the stairs....I love it! I've had that too! It feels like I'm falling down stairs, just like you said, and I wake up in a jerk trying to catch myself... but I'm perfectly situated on the bed. That's so neat!
It sucks when you wake up out of a really cool dream. Like in your dream you're about to get laid with a hot babe then you open you're eyes and it's over, then you do all you can to get back in the dream.
