Worst Xmas Presents Thread: Let forth your anger!

Ok so firstly Merry Xmas everyone :)

I do despise it more and more as I get older because I need less and less and the presents get worse and worse. I'm not ungrateful but really sometimes you just want to yell WHAT WHERE YOU THINKING??!! Xmas, what was once a deeply religious time of year, has turned into a consumerist binge. Landfill sites fill up and Ebay gets flooded. Anyway...

...Post your age (if you want), worst Xmas present(s), why, and your intended action. I'll start:

Age: 18

Worst Xmas Presents: A body shop voucher (I'm a guy :S), some biro pens and folders, a wooden mouse construction set, a hamster calendar (I AM 18 MUM!), a really ugly grey fleece and a really ugly hoodie dressing gown from topman.

Why: I'm 18, I am male, I can get pens and folders for free from school, the clothes never fit and never look good. Did I mention I was male? MALE! NO BODY SHOP VOUCHERS. And I'm 18! 18! No wooden mouse construction sets ffs. AND NO HAMSTER CALENDARS.

Intended Action: I will BURN the wooden mouse out of spite. I may take pictures and send them to relevant party just to make sure this never happens again. Oh and Ebay :) and the charity shop

Christ, at least you got to spend Xmas with your family and they bothered to buy you some things they thought were nice. Some people have to line up so they can get the last scraps of some god-awful soup with a bunch of bums, thats their Xmas. No presents or anything. You sound really ungrateful. What did you buy them by the way?

When I was young, my uncle got me a pack of Thundercat Stickers. Like, those 50 cent packs of stickers that have all of six or seven stickers in them. I didn't even like Thundercats.

I never ask people to buy me anything as I don't need it. I don't see the point of Xmas. After reading Jean Baudrillard, a French postmodern sociologist, I can't help but see Xmas like Disneyland; a hyperreal simulacra. The purpose of Xmas, to spend time with family, spread love, praise God (btw I am NOT Christian) has been buried under a labyrinth of simulation with Santa Claus and presents.

Please. This thread is a little fun. I am old enough, and (not to be arrogant) intelligent enough to realise all what you say is true. I did mention I was not ungrateful in the OP. This thread is a little fun; that is ALL.

Edit: I got my dad some cognac, my mum a model she wanted, and my sister some earrings which she liked.

I'm 20 and I would love to get a lego set right now. Depending on the difficulty of the set it could be hours of fun.

Worst christmas present was probably from my grandma. I asked for just 1 package of pokemon cards and instead of getting the kind I showed her I got one of those 3rd party brands. I didn't complain or anything, but I was a little dissapointed at the time.

18 and I'd be happy if someone gave me a lego set (assuming it wasn't giant lego designed for 2 year olds). I am going to assume you are from America and not make price the focal point because I don't know how expensive they are compared to Australia, but a Star Wars set of an ATAT or an X-Wing would set you back about $200.

My mom always gets me underpants. This is kinda a bad present because you are never excited to see underpants unless you have been living in a cave for months or just pooped in them. so while they are a crap present they it could be worse and she could get me something i wouldnt use. any other piece of clothing would just sit in a drawer somewhere and not get used. So its the best and worst gift

Yeah. I like getting a new shirt or pants on Christmas, if my parents pick out ones that I like.

And as for my worst Christmas present, I don't really have one. I usually just get games, clothes, and cash, all of wish I like. I don't recall ever getting any gifts I actually despised...

If you want to argue with me, at least read my reply to the second poster. THERE IS NO LOGICAL PROGRESSION FROM I GOT X PRESENT AND THINK ITS PRETTY FUNNY TO I AM UNGRATEFUL. And yes the caps IS warranted because obviously in your rush to shout someone down you haven't had the message communicated to you. I asked for ntohing, got some funny presents, and am having a laugh about it. I do realise that there are children who don't get anything. This is NOT ABOUT THEM. It is about having a laugh at XMAS. Disrespectful? Your one of the few 13 year olds i know that didnt atleast remotely like Legos when they were 13. Hell i still like when im 16 :D.
You just dont like them, your parents arent freaking mind readers to know what you want. Give them some hints or something not just hope that out of the millions of things they can pick, the will pick what you want...

Oh man Lego! That's AWESOME!

Nothing bad, Just bummed, got some sick headphones for christmas, though my Ipod died so I had asked for a new one, but didn't expect to get one, so now got a wait a while till I can fully utilize these crazy bass Bumping Headphones haha

All in all good christmas, not much except the headphones because I got a payed ticket to Madrid to go with my girlfriend, so its all good :)

I got play-doh from my aunt when I was 14 and just kind of shrugged it off... then threw that crap in the garbage.
