First of all, you need to calm down. Quit trying to act older by swearing. You are the one that is disrespectful to your parents by acting this way.

Second of all, I loved legos when I was 13, but I guess today's kids are just little spoiled brats that only love video games.

I agree, Lego ain't that bad my other friends brothers like 20 now and he just keeps stacking lego on top off each other, it's actually pretty fun. Passes time to!

I don't think any of my gifts were ever that bad, but this one time; My brother put a Ben Wallace jersery I really wanted into a box for a spaghetti holder. I almost cried.

Christ, at least you got to spend Xmas with your family and they bothered to buy you some things they thought were nice. Some people have to line up so they can get the last scraps of some god-awful soup with a bunch of bums, thats their Xmas. No presents or anything. You sound really ungrateful. What did you buy them by the way?

Yeah makes me very sad. It could happen to any of us as well.

18 and I'd be happy if someone gave me a lego set (assuming it wasn't giant lego designed for 2 year olds). I am going to assume you are from America and not make price the focal point because I don't know how expensive they are compared to Australia, but a Star Wars set of an ATAT or an X-Wing would set you back about $200.

Is lego really that offensive? Sheesh, grow up. Well that phrase is somewhat more appropriate here I suppose.

Would you be happier if it was a balsawood model of an aeroplane or something? Or better yet, nothing at all?

Hey hey no need to bring America into this! :P I think the kid's just upset because he is too "cool" to enjoy lego's. While lego's weren't particularly on my list, if I were to get them I wouldn't rage all over them, and it most certainly isn't disrespectful. You should be happy your parents even got you something with the current recession, not everyone is as fortunate as you. Also, you make it sound like lego's was the only Christmas present you got, I'm sure you got other things that you're more happy with.

I appreciate every gift I get because if someone took the time to select it, I'll take the time to figure out how to use it. Christmas spirit I suppose.

[QUOTE="lletheri"]

Ok so firstly Merry Xmas everyone :)

I do despise it more and more as I get older because I need less and less and the presents get worse and worse. I'm not ungrateful but really sometimes you just want to yell WHAT WHERE YOU THINKING??!! Xmas, what was once a deeply religious time of year, has turned into a consumerist binge. Landfill sites fill up and Ebay gets flooded. Anyway...

...Post your age (if you want), worst Xmas present(s), why, and your intended action. I'll start:

Age: 18

Worst Xmas Presents: A body shop voucher (I'm a guy :S), some biro pens and folders, a wooden mouse construction set, a hamster calendar (I AM 18 MUM!), a really ugly grey fleece and a really ugly hoodie dressing gown from topman.

Why: I'm 18, I am male, I can get pens and folders for free from school, the clothes never fit and never look good. Did I mention I was male? MALE! NO BODY SHOP VOUCHERS. And I'm 18! 18! No wooden mouse construction sets ffs. AND NO HAMSTER CALENDARS.

Intended Action: I will BURN the wooden mouse out of spite. I may take pictures and send them to relevant party just to make sure this never happens again. Oh and Ebay :) and the charity shop

Tobio19

be gratefull you got something

stop being a spoiled brat atleast u got something i hardly ever get anything and my birthdays on christmas

so suck it up

theres kids that would kill to have a family like yours so quit whining

People, don't give me that whole "I appreciate every gift" - there is no shame in saying you've ever disliked a gift someone has given you.

I've had plenty of awful gifts, usually clothes from people who either didn't bother knowing what I actually liked or just rushed to buy something for me at the last secnd.

My 21 year old cousin was jealous last night because my little cousins got these plastic toy tops that spin, lit up in alot of colors, and make a ring around the floor. He was like i need to get one of these and take it to a bar.
But the last thingi could remember that was bad was a key chain.. oh well its xmas, presents arent really big anymore once you age.

People are getting all worked up over nothing in this thread. Its just to talk about the worst things you got for xmas and a lot of you are all pulling the superior card, "you should be grateful", etc. Get over it, everyone is given something that they don't like and wish the person hadn't gotten it for them and I guarantee that everyone on here who has said be grateful you got something has gotten something they didn't want.xTheExploited
This is a no fun zone, good sir, now leave before you are escorted out.

grow up. im 18 and legos are still fun to mess with. if they are so "childish and easy", why don't you try to make something that the step-by-step directions don't help you with?

I never get mad, because at least they tried. And most of the time if I get a undesired a present I just take it back and exchange it for something I would use or want. So either way I am getting something I like. I think the "funniest" gift I ever received was when I was 13 and my relative got me this Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sweater that was pretty ugly. At the time TMNT was a couple years past being popular, and it was more for 8-10 year olds anyways. But it did come in handy when I got to my senior year in high school and during "Spirit Week" they had a Best Dressed day and i wore the sweater that was so small and the tag was still on it. Everyone got all nostalgic on me and said that was the coolest sweater ever. I won the competition that day so in all it was a good present for future use.

I'm 16... and I still play with Legos.:|

Worst present? I don't get bad presents. Why not? I LET MY PARENTS KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I LIKE! Music, movies, and video games, with the occasional toy or board game.

Well, except my parents bought me and my sister two DS games that we already have (Mario Party DS while intending to replace our lost New Super Mario Bros cart and Professor Layton and the Curious Village while intending to get my sister Diabolical Box), and last year I got Spore (which I alreadyhad)from my aunt because the store owner was incompetent (Iasked forCreepy and Cute). However, my parents were well meaning and hey, that's the spirit of Christmas right? ...Ok fine, they're going to exchange the duplicates for the intended gifts. And my aunt did this last year and ended up buying me Chrono Trigger DS because Creepy and Cute was cheaper than Spore. I didn't even want to ask that from her... but I got a neat stuff pack and one of the greatest games I've ever played. :D

I also love legos, and I'm 21. What's not to like about legos? On the bright side, now you can build yourself a tissue box as it seems you are crying over spilt milk. Look at that, killed two birds with one stone.

@ lazzordude, that's hilarious. My grandmother actually bought me the best Christmas present I ever got. It wasa PS2 when they were brand spanking new and scarce, but that's not why it was the best present. Shewas very poor and bought me a $300 gift on impulse while we were at Wal-Mart.

R.I.P Ms. Andrea Porter, I miss you.

I got shampoo and acne lotion this year. A bookstore gift card (I would like this normally, but I work in a library. Every book you can imagine is at my fingertips for free) and an iTunes gift card. And a hundred bucks. Aside from the money and iTunes gift card, I am disappointed. I have shampoo, and I think I've been insulted with the acne lotion, as I don't suffer from acne. Still, I try to be grateful for everything, but I'm mature enough to be honest about my feelings with presents.

Here's an idea: Stop complaining about people spending money on you for perfectly fine gifts. What, you think it's "disrespectful", like it ruins your dignity? I wouldn't mind a LEGO set, they're very fun! Or what, it's uncool? Like your friends will walk in your house, see a LEGO set, cringe, and then leave you forever? You're out of your mind from being so spoiled, grow up. Age: 13 Worst gift: Nothing. I might have said in 2006 it was Shadow the Hedgeog for PS2 and some action figures was bad, but I went to Disney World a month before, so my family wasn't exactly loaded with cash after such a tolling trip. Plus, I'm in no position to complain.

It seems like a lot of people didn't realize this thread was supposed to be for fun.

Anyway, the worst gift I've gotten was probably some undershirts that ended up being too big anyway. However, my family has turned into a running joke but taking huge boxes, wrapping them up, and then putting some undergarments in them. This year I got a huge box of...socks. They do come in handy though and I usually always end up using them in the long run.

And I can't complain when the smallest box I got ended up being plane tickets to NYC and a gift certificate for tickets to any Broadway show. :D

Sweet!!!! See Tony & Tina's Wedding!!!! That's my recommendation.

My dad got my grandmother one year a gigantic cardboard box, it was just a moving box. He filled it with foampopcorn, and she dug through it for a long time. It was hilarious. Once she reached the bottom, there was a note that said "tired of digging? look under the flap!" and it was a $200 gift certificate to Red Lobster.

Guys, the point of this thread is to "Let forth your anger!" instead of childishly flaming, just contribute to the topic. If it's really that offensive, then just ignore it. There's no need to get your panties in a knot. It's alright if some people dislike legos, if you like them, that's good for you now, isn't it? I question the age of the people who claim they're 18+ in here.

My worst...hmm...probably like, a big pack of gum from one of my friends. (like those bags that have 5 packages of gum in them). Lulz.

I believe MTV has a "reality" show for you.

On a side note, I got this

But then my dad gave me a Red Rider air rifle. So I was good.

Edit-

I just shot it outside and it ricochet and hit me in the eye! Everyone said that would happen. Oh well, I'm still good.

Are you kidding me? I'd like to see any 5 year put together a lego set even with instructions. Lego is a mans toy

I've been putting lego sets together since I was 3 thank you very much.

I believe MTV has a "reality" show for you.

Yeah, I hate people who do that and complain about ridiculous things like that. On a serious note I have never been disappointed on Christmas day and appreciate that my parents never let me down.

Same. I didn't actually star in A Christmas Story either. If you can believe that.

Oh hell no. I started with the simple stuff of course. If I had way too much money I would totally buy that thing though. It is just epic.

I just remembered my worst Christmas present. When I was 10 or 11 my great aunt gave me a barney lunch pale (that stupid purple dinosaur) I'm just glad my parents didn't make me use it

Of all time? A friend of mine in highschool bought me a lighter, which somehow managed to slightly explode when I attempted to light it the 4th or 5th time. Threw it down quickly enough that my fingers were just slightly reddened. To this day I wonder if that was a planned occurrence.... sabotage....

I just remembered that I let my brother and his friends play with my completed lego sets about a year ago. I came back and found them all destroyed :( At least my Sandcrawler is still intact

Oh and Ebay :) and the charity shop

lletheri

What the...?

I NEVER got free pens and folders from school. From kindergarten through 12th grade and then into collede, I NEVER got fre pens and folders.

Furthermore, with the economy the way that it is, we should all count ourselves lucky to get ANYTHING. I got some people some crappy gifts. Sorry, I don't have mopney. If they're bitter, i hope they tell me so that I can not even bother ATTEMPTING to get them anything next year. Do not EVER complain about a bad gift or a lack of gifts, because no one's obligated to give any of us a damn thing.

I never got anything I never liked. I would have kept it anyway just because somebody bought it for me and thats all that matters.

I'll take em. I love legos. Are they the Star Wars ones?

Oh, and I'm 30.

I can't remember any bad gifts. I just buy my own now or my wife buys me something in which she always asks me what I want. hrmmm....I just can't remember getting something that I thought was bad. Then again, I'm grateful for everything I have in life.
