Jus to buy groceries and stuff

No, can't be, because different cars are build better. For example. If I hit you in my Honda Civic I'm fawk'd but if I hit you in my 67 Polara I'll slice any car like butter.
Yeah it's legal armour plating your car, when cops pull you over and notice all that weight waying down on those tires they'll let you off, plus it protects your car also and insurance company's will try real hard making your premium vip level.
So yeah it's legal :P

As long as the car reamains street legal(aka parts won't fly off & armor won't abstruct vision), then I don't see why not.
Gas milage would be ***** though

Pretty much this. It'd be highly impracticle, but as long as it isn't a safety risk I'm pretty sure you'd be fine. Just resist the urge to load it full of guns and go on a rampage.
I don't really understand why you are asking this.metroidprime55
You don't have to understand if you don't wanna
[QUOTE="worlock77"]
Why do you need an armor-plated car to buy groceries in?

pfft, a humvee is like tissue paper compared to what they make.you can pick the lvl of protection and upgrade the suspension to handle the added weight and upgrade the engine to move the whole thing.
they do the whole package.

Not exactly. Humvees are not legal for road use for civilian purposes. Commercially available Hummers is as close as you can get.I know, i was just saying they can make a car as bullet proof as one.
I wouldn't have thought so. Although if you need to armour plate your car 'to buy groceries and stuff', you are definitely doing something wrong.Jus to buy groceries and stuff

humvees are NOT bullet resistant, they added a bit of armor to shield occupants from i.e.d. shockwaves and heat a tiny bit but a 7.62 fired from an ak would most likely go through one side of the passenger compartment and out the other with very little resistance.[QUOTE="James161324"][QUOTE="Riverwolf007"]

No. My Platoon Sergeant shot his own truck with a confiscated AK to settle a bet that it would stop the round. It did.well that's good news, i was used to the old models that had canvas doors and the jury rigged armor panels that were just kind of slopped together from items laying around in the motor pool.[QUOTE="James161324"]

for anyone interested in an everyday driver type of armored vehicle i recommend this one.
http://shadowhawkvehicles.com/hawks/vehicles/steelhawk
The Street Hawk is the best on-road performing Super Terrain Vehicle. Taking advantage of its active suspension and 62 inches of rubber, the Street Hawk, takes hold of the road and delivers a vehicle that craves switchbacks. With 1,100 horsepower and 1,805 foot pounds of torque, the Super Terrain Vehicle cries to have the throttle opened and devour the roads. The 3/16 titanium construction allows this Super Terrain Vehicle to weigh in at approximately 4,800 pounds giving it 4.3 pounds to every horsepower. Using all of these features in harmony, the Street Hawk accelerates from 0 to 60mph in 3.5 seconds and has an estimated top speed of 208mph.
