Would it matter if the human species went extinct tomorrow? I honestly think it wouldn't matter at all. We are a byproduct of the universe. If humans and the Earth in general just vanished, the universe would continue going on its way.

It would matter to me. I'm in the process of making a Battlemage on Skyrim. I can't be bothered with mass extinction!!!

I haven't beaten the main questline because I keep wanting to try different characters. :( SWTOR doesn't help any, either.

This is the most perfect answer to why it would matter. Because people and other animals give their own lives meaning. Thats the meaning of living. If a zebra somwhere escaped a lion attack, the universe would not care. But the zebra would.
