Think about it, if you could get away with it, and someone payed you $1000000 to take down someone you have NO IDEA about, of a similar age (not a child). You're sitting out of a high window with a sniper rifle, eying your victim with your finger gripped on the trigger. You have his/her head in the crosshair...could you do it?

Depends on the person, how, etc. Close i.e. face to face, no. Snipe, possibly. Money isnt an issue so I'm not saying yes no matter what.

Nope. I don't consider any amount of money to be worth a person's life. I get by just fine earning what I do. Some people are far too greedy for their own good.

I think I would be able to convince myself that what I did was justified in that:

-the person probably deserved it if I was being payed 1000000, and if not, I won't bother questioning

-the person is just one in billions

-who says killing is wrong anyway? If animals kill to advance, then what's the difference for me to kill and advance with money?

-could buy their family a card with a fraction of the profit

If your kids are that important to you, you will work to secure a future for them honestly. For all you know, the person you're killing is also a parent, and by killing him or her, you're ruining his or her kids' lives. If that doesn't bother you, I don't know what to say.

You don't need $1 000 000 to secure your childrens' futures anyways. And if you feel you do need $1 000 000, there are plenty of honest ways to achieve that goal.

No, not a complete stranger. I mean, as much as I despise a lot of people, there could be that off chance that the random person is a decent human being. I couldn't live with that thought lingering.

Well, I suppose if you want to give up the distinctiveness of humanity and settle for being an animal, it's your decision to make. I fail to see how any of this suggests you are justified in murdering someone to satiate greed.

that's true.....but tomorrow I could get hit by a bus.....an instant paycheck no matter how "morrally low" it may be.... secures my family financially with one shot. to be frank. If they are a parent. It's not my concern. My concern are the children I brought into the world. IF people want to believe we are nothing but animals. Let's get back to basics. My offspring are all that matters......

Really? I think I'd kill someone if it was to protect a loved one.

I think if I'm willing to kill, I should be willing to go through every personal ordeal I can think of beforehand to make me capable of protecting a loved one without killing.

I don't mean locking people up, I mean readying myself, you know?

So what if I was the sniper with your kid in my crosshair? Should I shoot so my kids should have a better life? The answer is no. I would much rather me and my family be poor than to know that I got rich from having to take someone else's child off this earth.

EDIT: I hope this doesn't offend you, it was not meant that way, it was just to bring up a point.

As I mentioned before, if you want to lower yourself to an animal's mentality, your decision would certainly be the best one. Animals, however, can not rationalize. We may BE animals in a technical sense, but we are special in that we have an advanced capacity for thought. As far as I'm concerned, it is unacceptable for a human to deny that capacity to justify behavior that would be perfectly normal in the animal kingdom.

I wouldn't want to be the child of a person who murdered someone to pay for my future. I'd feel dirty accepting money that was received for such a callous, inhuman act.
