Portugal(Europe).
Incredible country guys!

No, because @korvus lived there and doesn't anymore, and now all the good people are gone, so there's no point.
Portugal is not a bad country. It is well below countries like the Netherlands logically. But I think people leaving Portugal are looking for better alternatives to employment and personal development. For those who do not dream of developing in computer science or other fields that give much money Portugal is a good country to live. Of course I may be wrong after all the dog kennel where I live makes any European country look like a dream.
No I wouldn't. Here in Switzerland I have more pros than cons compared to protugal and I keep the option to travel the world.
I've spent some time in Lisbon. It was a cool city and all, but I'm not sure I'd want to move there.
I understand you
I personally prefer to live in the USA.

Switzerland? It must be great.
Definitely. Must be one of the best countries in the world to live in.
I don't really know if Portugal is one of the best in the world. But can tell you that it is better than Brazil or Mexico.
It's nice and all but I prefer to live in my own Country the U.S and despite it's political problems here, at least our money is still powerful and I do get great benefits for the most parts. If there is one place I rather live for the rest of my life, it will be in Cuba!

Depends on what you look for? Hapiness? Then this list might be interessting:

Switzerland, my country, is on place 4 while Porugal is 89th.

Cuba? Are you sick dude?
@littleangrydog: Sick? No, why ask? Didn't you know Cuba has some of the classic cars you will never find?
Cuba is a communist country with a horrible quality of life and a gigantic social control. This is terrible. Where are you from? USA? Should not you know that?
@littleangrydog: Despite I'm from the U.S, I like the climate in Cuba, very present if you ask me. I would consider living there if I could find the same job I'm doing now that has the same pay rate but since that may never happen, I'll remain in the U.S.
thing about my little secret is this.
Although it is true the pacific northwest is more beautiful, its only marginally so AND less accessible because of mountains AND cost of living is about 2x more.
The bad thing about the Ozarks are surrounding areas is that the people arent too bright and can even be dangerous

Flattery will get you everywhere :p
Where as in the west coast mountains are wonderful to look at in the distance but its not really easy to get to them
They're not hard to access. I pass over the Sierra Nevadas every time I take I-80 between Nevada and California. I saw plenty of RVs parked nearby. The problem there is winter because they get dumped on really bad with snow.

I went from Eugene Oregon thru the rainforest to the coast and there was only about 2 places to pull over, in part because on the left was a 90degree 2 story tall cliff.
Driving into the mountains was similar.
in the ozarks you have places and homes all over the place. in the 'mountains' which are more like hills
mojave Desert was also literally driving 12 hours and only having one place to pull over, which of course is also the only place to get gas

Pick a better spot. I use to live near the Lake Tahoe area and there are a fair number of RV parks.
In fact, one of my options if I retired single was to live in one.

there was one in oregon that has lots for sale up in the mountains, absolutely gave it serious thought.
its just that given the cost of living the difference is not radical enough for me. The ozarks are beautiful and the cost of living is way low.
but the people are friggin nuts, stereotypes are true and they believe some of the most craziest of fake news things ever.
anyway...so for those who want a social life I would say the pacific northwest for sure :). plus I have a connection to the whole Mark Twain, singer song writer, red dirt, boots, whiskey, good smoke, and southern liberals thing (which is very rare)

even hell can feel like heaven if you have enough money to spend
The only place for me worth seeing is CR7 Museum. One of the best football players to grace in this generation.

The US in a fascinating country, world leaders on a few things but so backward on other things you have to go to a 2nd world country to compare.

If you like Mark Twain, settle down in Carson City. It's not far from Virginia City/Comstock Lode. There are a lot of Nevadans who say Samuel Clemens is not a native Nevadan. But, Mark Twain is. ;)
Anyway, I love the Carson City-Lake Tahoe-Washoe Valley area.
It looks like a beautiful vacation destination, but for living I need to be somewhere with a cooler climate.

How cool do you want it to be? There are many places in the US that are cool throughout the summer. You want to be buried under lake effect snow with winter temperatures often below 0F and snow season lasting almost six months? There's plenty of those too.

twain was pretty much all over the country, but dont you think living on the Mississippi would be more accurate then a desert filled mountain?

I guess that's true. He spent only a short time out west.
He did settle in the New England region. Having lived in Upstate New York for six years, I understand the appeal of the area. I loved the Lake Ontario region. Beautiful area. We'd still be living there if the wife didn't insist we go back here to AZ (too hot for me).
Anyway, Lake Tahoe is alpine country. Carson City isn't exactly desert either. Summer temperatures are usually upper 80's F (dry heat). It's comparable to summers in Upstate New York and quite cool compared to the 110's F we get here in AZ. ;)

I have to have trees...lots of trees, taller than me trees.
pacific northwest has trees.:)

We have plenty of trees at Lake Tahoe. Granted, they're all conifer evergreens plus cottonwoods along streams and creeks. In addition, a large part of the region is in California. Treehugger country. ;)
I used to hike the trails there (at the Truckee area) until I encountered a black bear. After that, I chickened out.
@littleangrydog: have you ever lived in Mexico ?
No.
I never visited or lived in Mexico. I confess that I do not like this country any more than I do not like where I was born (Brazil). And where you live?
It looks like a beautiful vacation destination, but for living I need to be somewhere with a cooler climate.
Canada?
@littleangrydog: Canada certainly sounds nice with the current political climate in the US, but moving to another country is not so simple. At least in the Northeast US, I wouldn't be stuck in the middle of the Bible Belt in a state that every single county has gone Red for the last several elections, including the most recent one which is just the most unforgivable for me.
My post wasn't about political climate, though, sorry. Lol. Certainly I would like Canada weather climate-wise, too!
@jun_aka_pekto: For me, probably closer to the coast of the Northeast US. I'm sick to death of the overbearing summers where I live. I also have an incredibly low tolerance to heat nowadays. Any sign of the sun without wind in the mid 50s F and above and it's just too much for me. I should probably get that checked. lol

Not many places you can go. Even Iceland gets above mid-50F during the summer. It's the same with Anchorage, Alaska.
I say you need to get checked out.
@jun_aka_pekto: Well, if it gets too warm for me, legitimately hot even, in the summer than that's fine by me. Summer is supposed to be hot. However, the problem I have is that where I live it can get hot (and that's not even by my odd standards) all year around. It can get up into the 80s any day of the year, including during winter. And say we do get a lucky winter where it stays cooler (this winter was like that IIRC, thank goodness), it really doesn't stop regularly hitting the 80s until mid-October, even into November, and the 80s are regularly back in April, if not February or March.
I think I'd be a heck of a lot happier in the Northeast. I can understand 80s in the summer. I can not understand them on Christmas.
