Europe and the US are big places, and both have different cultures througout.  Eastern Europe is different from western Europe.  The Southern US is different from the North, East coast of West Coast.  Too broad of a question.

I'm sure I could live peacfully and happily in both places, but I' accustomed to the laws and culture I grew up in so I say the US, and more specifically Minneapolis, MN.  Highest life expectancy in the US, education rate, and beautiful places in the US.  Minnesota FTW baby.:D

I was born and raised in America, and I've never been to Europe.  So I don't really know if I would make the move.  If I liked the place in general better than here and found a college I particularly like then I would definitely consider it.  It would have to be quite a place to get me past any language barriers, though.

Living isn't just going on vacation you know. :P

And we speak fluent English so we don't have to learn any other languages. French and German are impossible. :P

It'd really be easier if English became the first language in all of europe though.

french i can understand but why German? it's so similiar to Dutch. and i don't think english should be everyone's first language. it will over americanize european culture.

how would english "Americanize" europe.  The Language was invented by the English, a european country.    :|

It surly didnt sound like your point.....You said that you could be arrested for voicing your opinion, as if our governments controlled what we say and do....

jointed

If I was of the opinion that the jewish holocaust was overblown and never occurred on the scale they say it did, and I voiced that opinion publicly, I would go to jail for voicing my opinion. I wholeheartedly disagree with the concept, regardless of the vulgarity of such an opinion, or the narrowness of enforcement.

btw, how are your gas prices over there? :) (don't lie, I have relatives in europe)

Why would you want to offend the jews by saying that? The few countries were that rule exists did it becuase of sympathy towards the jews, not because they wanted to controll the people...

I don't know really what the gas prices are, last week it was 1,44 (dollars)

I wouldn't want to offend somebody by saying anything, but I disagree with the concept of it being illegal, especially when the law protects only one specific ethnicity.

also, when you do the gas price conversion, don't forget liters to gallons. If the gas prices in your country(?) are $1.44 per gallon that's extremely low compared to the european average.

I wouldn't mind Europe, in fact I don't mind learning another language because I've always wanted to learn German anyway. TBH German is actually a lot like English, as far as foreign languages go it's increadibly similar.

Though US doesn't sound all too bad either.

[QUOTE="SIapshot"]Even though the US has some very unattractive double standards, you can't be arrested in the US for voicing your opinion like in most European countries. Try saying that the jewish holocaust didn't occur while you're in a european country and see of you don't land in jail.jointed

riiiight, you don't really know what your talking about.......Europeans can say WHATEVER they want except the thing about the holocaust, it's a touchy subject.  just look at the mohammed cartoons  in Denmark, that's what I call free speech.

oh yeah , we don't censor our national TV channels either and people voice their opinions in debates without fearing law suits

heh yeah that cartoon thing was quite funny :)

That's already happened.  Europe eats up US media.  TV shows, Movies, Music, consumer goods ect.  Nobody's forcing anyone to buy these products, they just seem to like them.

But the english language has nothing to do with "Americanizing" Europe, the origins of the language ARE EUROPEAN.  It would be no different if the US spoke German or French.
