[QUOTE="Dylan_11"][QUOTE="PerfectCircles"]I would still post, it would be nice too because it would scare off all those jerks who say things they wouldn't say face to face :) PerfectCirclesI don't see how that would change things. You would still not be face to face with those "jerks". Because people are less likely to behave in an uncivil manner when they can be held accountable for their actions. It easy to be an internet tough guy when no one knows who you are.Held accountable in what way? Unless they make death threats or something along those line I don't see how knowing their name will change anything.
well maybe, I wouldn't want my realname being displayed though :s buh like Im pretty surenothing bad can come from it :3

On the internet death threats and hate speech are common things (not so much gamespot its pretty relaxed here), just look at the comments on any youtube video :P So yes things would change because what they say could be easily traced back to them and if necessary they could be charged for harassment.

We are talking about Gamespot, however, not Youtube. However much internet bullying there is on this site would never be something someone could get charged for. So it would be business as usual on Gamespot, nothing would really change.

Yeah I don't think anything would really change here either, I was thinking of the internet in general I probably should have mentioned that in my first post :P
I know when I first started posting my name was used.....way back before complete/basic...and before user names and password.LJS9502_basicWhat time-frame was this ? O.o I would still post, yeah. But, I would be more careful with things... since, there are some things I don't want my family to know, and you never know who will google your name to see what comes up.
