My hands are cold too, so I can't really play much fast paced games. :P
It was sunny and warm today except for that chilly breeze, but still lovely!

Just because the UK currency has gone rather bad recently doesn't make it better to live in.

Sides

No, but it makes it better for other Europeans to import from. They joke that the United Kingdom is like a third world shopping paradise for video games for a reason.

they also have good beer, and a full english breakfast is something to die/kill for lol. English cuisine is actually pretty damn good if youre a meat and potatoes kind of person.

England is also very pretty and awesome, I loved Oxford and London was pretty cool too. I didnt like Londoners, though.

Still, you should come to the US...our games are 40-60 USD, thats 20-30 Pounds last time I checked (~2 dollars to 1 pound, right?)

Games cost less in Canada and even less in America so you would be better off buying games in North America than the UK.

I think £40 is rather expensive for a game. The UK is a pretty expensive country anyway, based on my visits there.

Well games are one of the few things that depreiate really fast. But everything else is effing expensive and thats not before being taxed to death either.

stevoqwerty

Tax not included? LOL in Australia everything is GST included, more convinient. But you get high pay right?

Depends on your job I suppose.

Right now I'm working in a retail store (not manager or anything), I've been there for nearly 6 months. My pay has always been £6.21 an hour.

Which is about $10.27 Australian. Is that a lot?

If I bought a ₤40 game from the UK today with Australian dollars it would cost me circa $67. The same amount in say, November 2007 would have set me back around $105. Everything's relative, but you know the UK has always been an expensive place to live and consumer goods have always been on the high side when compared to that on mainland Europe.

Buses used to be just 40p for kids, and 70p for adults. That was less than 8 years ago.

Now it's either £1.20 on Oyster Card, or £2 in coins.

Oyster was meant to make travelling cheaper, and it started as 70p per bus. They've been increasing the fare for buses every year by 10p since Oyster started.

Might not sound like much but it adds up.

£40 is slightly more than 60 USD, therefore games are more expensive here than the US. :?

The real big games cost $70 in either Canada or the US

DraugenCP

£40 are €44.10 and the starting price for a game in the EU tends to be €60. The UK is definitely cheap when it comes to games, hence why so many other European gamers import from here.

6 for a return ticket? It only cost me $3 AUD or 1.5 pounds. And there's a large shopping centre just 2 minute from my place.
