[QUOTE="mfacek"][QUOTE="desktopdefender"][QUOTE="mfacek"] [QUOTE="Luminouslight"]I heard about this; basically, there is a chance that the world could be gone in an instant. desktopdefender
We also live with the chance a large astroid could smash into Earth destroying it, we live with a chance that the Sun could have an extremely large and intense solar flare reaching out to earth, cooking us in seconds. There are infinite amounts of slight chances the world could end right now.
Dont solar flares hit the earth all the time?:| and doesnt our magnetic field protect us?(not flaming just wondering)Yup, but Solar flames that hit near Earth are managable, and our magnetic field takes care of them. I'm talking about a gigantic, catastrophic, extremely remote chance one that completely scorches Earth.
Ouch......Good day for a tan though8) if you survive of course;)
He's right though, a large solar flare is the single biggest threat to Earth, it always has been. It is honestly pretty amzing that we have never been hit by any type of solar phenomenon in the past 60 years...although, every passing year there is more and more of a chance simply because of the expanding of the Sun.
